Why worship the leaf when you can worship its maker? It’s like worshiping a painting and denying the painter ever existed.

Cucumber, eggplant and pepper plant prefer warm water, cold water can shock the plant and slow growth.

I’m on my second succession of cucumbers and growing them vertically. I have a ton of male flowers and hardly any female ones. I also had the same issue with the first set. What’s the secret to promote female flowers? They are in raised beds as I have gophers. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing! To promote more female flowers: Patience: Female flowers often appear after male ones. Light & Temperature: Ensure 6-8 hours of sunlight and consistent temps. Watering: Keep soil moist but not waterlogged. Nutrients: Make sure the soil is rich in compost. Pollination: Try hand-pollinating if needed. Hope this helps! Happy gardening!

Grow another variety, there are some eastern European varieties that produce more female flowers then male flowers. I've been growing Titus M1 and Masha strains of cukes, one plant gave me and the entire family pickled cucumbers for Christmas, I still have a jar in the fridge. Went all out this year, planted 6 plants.

So, to set the starting time, there isn't a programmable screen, you have to physically be there to punch in the time. Does that mean that if you want it to open at, say, 1 in the morning, you have to stay up that late in the night to set it for the first time?

So, by using the Splitter at the house connection, you have to leave it on all the time, correct? How well does the splitter actually work? Are some better than others? I've had some that don't have a good seal when turned off and have a slight drip.

Thank you for the informative video, I got several rhizomes and only 3 are alive however I haven't been successfully growing well in the ground, 1) Probably, I have planted the wrong location although I planted those 3 rhizomes in good compost soil, 2) I feed liquid fertilizer every 6 weeks I am not sure if I feed something between, This is why I am planning to dig out during dormant to a larger container with better soil condition. I didn't know rhizomes grow roots deeper so this is probably one of the issues with my rhizomes the ground is too compact for them.

Does the hardware cloth bother the chickens? Don't they like to scratch and dig normally? You would think they would get frustrated by running into the hardware cloth just a few inches down. (I have never had chickens, so please feel free to correct me if I'm totally wrong).

Thanks for this video. Tenax brand bird netting is excellent, too -- strong, doesn't tangle, reusable (their C-Flex deer netting is also top quality). Someone gave me big PVC hoops and low PVC frames, but those are toxic (quote from an expert follows). The hoops and frames have ruined the beauty and serene look of my garden. Stakes won't be so noticeable, I hope. re: PVC for hoops and frames: "You should steer clear of PVC," said Huantian Cao, professor... at the University of Delaware. “The entire life cycle of this material has a very bad environmental impact,” Cao said. Production, use and disposal of PVC can release toxic chlorine-based chemicals, and the plastic is one of the world’s largest sources of dioxin, a harmful pollutant that persists in the environment and can accumulate in the food chain." ,

Shall I let it go horizontally for maybe a foot so that it can form more roots and then take it vertically up or it’s fine with single stem to root and going vertically up straight away? My plant has grown hair as it was growing horizontally and now I have pulled it up vertically but those hair can form roots if I leave that part on ground. Worth it?
