Unfortunately I also concede many of those and the best I can suggest outside of "sign tall jumpy full backs" is to experiment with "stop crosses" (not too effective) and "trap inside" if you have congested the middle. With trap inside you will show them (when in transition) more opportunities to play through the middle and it will reduce crosses in general. If you have many DMs/CMs it is generally a good instruction as you force them into very crowded areas

@@ThOm4s1303 In defense you can experiment with "Trap inside" and /or switching the Regista to a holding DM (maybe a DLP on Defend). With one FB(D) you will be also more solid. In attack you can try moving one of the SS to a TF

Weird thing is a lot of headers (arguably too many) are scored in the game. Elite strikers in the air score up to 10 per season IRL and ingame you can get over 20. So crossing is a very effective way to score and yet if decisions/crossing is not high enough and/or you don't have a good striker at the end of them - I feel it is super wasteful. It's almost like you should either use cross more often PI for good crossers or cross less often for bad crossers and never leave it the default :D I just had James Tavernier deliver 35 assits over a season testig a tactic. I had Jose Gaya deliver 25 ... mad numbers

According to my data the Trequartista has 30% more xG/90 (out of around 26% more shots/90). The RMD has 23% more xA/90 and does 20% more passes. Both attempt around 45% more crosses when not inverted BUT the crossing success rate of the RM is 50% better no matter if inverted or not. I only compare AML/AMR Long story short: The Trequartista tries to be more of a goalscoring threat, makes more runs, dribbles a bit more when not inverted (while the RMD dribbles a lot more when inverted) and on average you can think of him as someone who will 25% more try to score while the RMD will 25% more try to create for others. In defence the T will press and intercept more while the RMD will press less but tackle more

Inverted wingers and generally players playing with opposite foot tend to put in "smarter" crosses and their success rate is generally better, using low crosses as a variation of through balls is a nice idea, I'll try it!

Despite the generally low success rate of crosses when the attribute is below 13-14 I still see a lot of headers scored, arguably too many. Having a tall guy with good jumping reach up front won me a trophy or two :)

As I said in the video - playing direct was not working for me, although it makes sense. But it also makes you loose the ball quickly and invites pressure

I have become a fan of floated but usually go with mixed. In previous versions whipped were definitely my favourite. Dunno why they are not doing great with pacy forwards this year

It would work about the same, the IFB's would run wide, while half back goes back to the DM spot, it would look like 3 CB's in possession, then just decided to invite the attack to score.

Hmm, I have not tested and I kinda doubt it will work 'cause what I created depends on your team being able to control games/possession. So I'd say it may probably work ... a bit with a Brighton but if you're gonna loose the ball a lot and have slow defenders that can't catch up with runners - it may really end as a disaster But I'm gonna give it a try and let you know!

@@khemrajbudha7955 I just tried same tactic on FM23 with Man Utd, default gegenpress settings + run at defense more often and be more expressive; 3SS, Regista a 2 Volantes on attack. Won Carabao, Europa League and lost the league to City on goal difference (9 golas diff). So with some tweaks I'm pretty sure it can work great in FM23 as well (3/4 fast, not 4/4 and WB on A, not on S). The only reason I wanted to use this 3-SS 3cbtactic is that we need a very small squad so we can give all the chances to youth players. When I was very successful in FM17, I used 3 SS, 1 DPL, 1 BWM, 2 IWB, and 3 BPD. Now, since there is a wide center-back, I wanted to create the same formation but with 2 WCB 1 CB, which is what I can't do until now. I tried for 3 game months with Chelsea few real months ago and failed! Maybe when I tried, my squad was weaker as compared to ManU. I'll surely try with these fancy roles like Volante and Regista. I have never used fancy roles apart from SS in my long FM career from FM13. Thanks for the video and motivation to try something new again.

I was considering it, but not strikerless only (you can check the 43x3x tactics video) as that one is kinda easy BUT no strikers and no attacking midfielders, that one I'm not sure I can make work

@@HiHi-zx1wv I was actually working on this for quite some time now but ... Hitting brick wall after brick wall. Defenses are just too leaky, easiest thing to do is just press high and hoard possession.

I'd say a wide attacking midfielder with "roam more", taking part in buildup and getting futher forward ... something like this. You gotta be aware that they just play TOO CENTRAL. As average position you can compare to IW on Support. But it also depends A LOT on if they are inverted or not ... Consistency is the single thing you will rarely get from a Raumdeuter, my experience shows they either win MoM or get a 6.2. A wildcard ... kinda

Yeah, you are correct! It's more "can you win a single game, be it the CL final with the best team ever assembled". The next video of this sort I hjave actually simulated a whole season and adjusted the tactic so it can work over a long period. I will give it a shot to create a tactic to be successfull over entire season without defenders but I honestly think it's gonna fail :)
