I really wanted this title to be a success, but its far from it. Too far. Firstly, they don't do anything different than other sims, nothing which would attract more people. Secondly, UE5 is definitely not something positive in here. I have 4090 and at full details I can see all the flaws of this engine. The ugly ghosts behind the cars, shadows popping up along the way, trees changing in front of your eyes, fences are super ugly... Kunos learned their lesson for ACE. Unreal is not for racing. Period. Then the sounds, I can digest worst physics when the sounds are good, but here, all the sounds look like a temporary placeholders, unfinished, like they are waiting for better samples. Some cars are better, some worse. I don't like especially external sounds, they are simply all bad. They are using fMod engine (like AC and ACC) so it shouldn't be so hard to do decent sounds. Damn even most AC mods sound better than Rennsport... Physics is mixed bag, some cars are ok, some not, but you can definitely feel the rfactor 2 physics in here, but like alpha version of it, not some sort of advanced version. Especially TCR cars, which I was obviously comparing to my AC TCRs. Models are top, no discussion about that (except the dashboard fonts), but the handling... I didn't like it. There is like 20-30 degrees of nothing in the middle in the steering wheel, then there is some kind of input lag for the front axle, very heavy force feedback which suddenly turns off on the throttle... I really expected something better... I usually support devs by purchasing all the DLCs and early access stuff, but here, I won't invest in the founders pack, not for now, not in this very early beta state. But I will give them chance later for sure.

The more sims the better! I think all of us should support and give new sims a good chance any time they release or bring out a big update. I personally just can’t get on with AMS2, I’ve bought all the dlc because I want to support them to make it better. If V1.6 is the moment I click with that sim then I’ll be super happy to have another sim I can enjoy. Too many tribalistic sim racers out there, when really we should support all new sims, if not financially then at the very least not bashing it on forums!

I won't lie. Rennsport surprised me.. I've been on it only since Sunday. Just today, I got my graphics looking amazing and healthy FPS with, as of now, no studderings. I dialed the FFB and messed with the clipping adjustments, which helped on that BMW Hyper car in Daytona. I'll be honest.. The game is free, and it runs well if your hardware is at least good, the physics makes sense and the FFB reports to you ASAP. I've noticed a lot of youtubers I normally watch, Just talk smack, and two of them lie about the handling. I've had the beta key in my email close to two months as today's date and I will honestly say, I didn't bother playing because I listened to them -_- I decided to give it a try on Sunday with my cousin, and I was impressed. After today's session with cleaning up my graphics and dialing my FFB for my CSLDD .. yea, I'm blown away. Tomorrow, I tackle the VR side using virtual desktop.

I suggest you put some time stamps. Not everyone has the time to watch a 16 min video.

Thanks for the thoughts. I also wonder where this slots into the market. If iracing participation is an indicator, it seems like the sim racing market is slowing down and all these new games are being pushed out into a contracting market segment.

I get that you like it, but for me there needs to be a lot more meat on the bone before I'm prepared to pay anything towards it. Also I think that what you get for paying for the platinum or diamond pack is an absolute ripoff - to be honest I'm not overly convinced of the value of the gold pack either. Like you, I'll keep an eye on it, but it's not off to a good start in my opinion.

Fantastic video and so good to see that the latest version of Content Manager works like this. I just reinstalled some of my Thunderflash mods and the VRC Auriel but yep, I have an issue. (I don't expect you to have an answer on this) but as the mod installs, the game crashes back to the desktop. I noticed that CM pulled my old Thunderflash mods into it automatically and that may be the reason. I'll need to play with it and see.

i picked up some missing cars/tracks in AMS2 ... and hadn't played it in a while ... like all sims they have their quirks/positives .. but its still fun .. and looking forward to the next update/content drop. keep up the video's jason!

Neat video, just a few notes. ACC on pc has reached the end of its life cycle and no longer gets updates as of 2 months ago but is still very active on Low Fuel Motorsport. AMS2 far and away has the best VR and single player AI going today and as a bonus, Low Fuel Motorsport announced a few weeks ago that it is integrating it onto its platform in conjunction with Rieza which is what this title has needed for a few years.

Don't buy Assetto Corsa Competizione if you are a into VR-racing. ACC sucks badly in therms of VR.

I have them all but I can t recommend WRC in Vr. With my 3080 I can t get good graphics on this one. The other games are all top in VR

Forza Motorsport is heavily discounted as well, should be in your list instead of some 10+ year old racing games.

I cannot download any mods, got cm, go to thunder flash, click on the mod, takes me to click to download, do that, starts downloading then at the end it says failed network issue, any help

coming from AC ACC and I can tell you this game feels the best in terms of driving!!! Just tried it last week and I am blown away honestly. Even driving alone is such enjoyment! ACC is 2nd but this thing is so good LOL AI is better that others ;)

How do you enable so like the guys from the pits can speak to you when somebody is for example on your left?
