Thanks for explaining why licences are paid. Unfortunately, some people just want something for nothing, and like to dress it up as a political position.

Merci pour cette vidéo, peut-on imaginer amener un enfant de ⅔ ans avec soit selon vous ? Je mesure 1,72m. Et est-il possible d’aller en mer (juste pour s’amuser sur le bord de plage). Merci à vous.

Being forced to pay for a service you may not want, is a tax. If the river is too dry I won’t paddle, if the water is too high, I won’t paddle. Whether you agree with it or not, it is a tax. A river is a natural resource.

Hi Stevie, bought one a couple of months ago (Decathlon in Germany currently sell it at 2/3 of the UK price) and am really happy about it! It's exactly as you say, the super-low weight and size allows you to do things that you just can't do with a conventional kayak. Thank you so much for this review. I would never have heard of packrafting without it!

I bought surf iSUP from it's been such a terrible experience. The first sup they sent had an issue, and they exchanged it. Shipped another one, which also had issues. The third one they sent is the worst. I guess they don't want my money.

Hello, I am undecided between the pr 500 or the pr 100 for small tours in the sea in the mornings. I know that the purpose of using packrafts is lakes and rivers, but I really need the practicality of the packraft and I believe that it can be driven in the sea as well. Do you think there will be a big difference in tracking between the pr 100 and the pr 500? Which one should I buy? In terms of price and performance, the pr 100 seems more reasonable to me.

Hi Steve, fantastic video - this looked great for kids - how good was the boat for solo paddling. I want to use with my kids but also go around shoreline for paddles on my own, so ideally looking for something that will cater for both. Thanks in advance!

The argument to me is like cycle helmets. Just bloody wear it. It's not hard work. As for knives almost every thing is legal when you have a legitimate reason and you're not in a public place, such as a town centre. Otherwise why would places like go outdoors and military surplus places sell bigger knives. I have a mora knife, definitely not legal as far as the law is concerned but of it's a tool for bushcraft then it's all good. All about context.

Is this suitable for 3 adults? You mention 2 adults and a dog, what about 3 x grown ups. Would it be too unstable /heavy? Offcourse would be within weight spec but is it best to keep away from the max?
@JamesJoyce-gk5jf

No, it'll be a bit cramped with 3 adults, as said 2 adults and a dog or 2 adults and a small child will be the limit. Decathlon does a bigger model that maybe suitable

Interesting thanks. Especially the family part. I was thinking whether to get a family license but our two boys are not that interested so wouldn't be in their own craft, if they're covered by my license when they come in my boat that's just saved me a fare bit of cash. Cheers.

Hi, Stevie. Good info generally. However, not all British waterways (other than Scottish) are covered by the British Canoeing ( now Paddle UK). There are public and private waterways that require a day/week/etc. licence.

I always carry a mobile phone and a Personal location beacon incase there is no phone signal. The other reason for wearing a PFD is that it sets a good example to children. You might not have children with you but it easier for a parent to be able to show a child that grown-ups wear them. I remember having an argument with my daughter when she was about eight for the need to wear a pdf. When we got back from the seaside it was reported that four children had drowned in seperate incidents over Bank Holiday weekend.

Phone: As a paddler, I strongly recommend to buy a WATER PROOF phone like a Samsung etc... I have it always in my PDF, attached with a small rope, but never in a dry bag. I use the phone to have a look on the map from time to time.
