Like the idea ,but for me a spitfire is constructed of aluminium so definitely the rust is wrong , the diorama is good and like use all sorts of stuff from the garden 😎👌☕️

Of course you're right and it wasn't a piece of iron. There I showed in the video a couple of analogues of corrosion, etc.., they look brown and rusty in places, I don’t know why, maybe some parts are not aluminum and therefore still rust, maybe it’s just dirt or primer residue... in any case, it’s just composition, in it I do not pretend to be historically accurate. and yes, the propeller of this Spitfire was made of wood and could not bend like that. )

That's not a Cyclone (9 cylinder single row) it's a Twin Wasp (14 cylinder row radial)

Aluminium does not rust like steel it oxidises with a white power colour and texture and the primer colour on a spitfire is the same as the cockpit colour

Great weathering skills and the scene is a work of art. Just wondering, wasn't this plane made of mostly aluminium alloys? Can these rust like that?

Thanx! And you are 99% right!) 1. Some parts although not aluminium. 2. Dirt - sometimes looks like rust. 3. Naked brown primer. … And I looked at references, they are in my clip )

Was für ein tolles Diorama. Die Airacobra hat sich bei der Air Force nur bedingt bewährt, in Großbritannien war man entsetzt. Die Russen liebten den Typ wegen der schweren Bewaffnung,Funk und der Cockpitausrüstung,obwohl über die Hälfte aller gelieferten Maschinen abgeschossen wurden.So hast du die sowjetischen Farben gut gewählt und diese Szene sprüht vor Leben,die tiefen Furchen des Fahrwerks,die Figuren,ein Meisterwerk, großer Respekt. Im übrigen gehört die Airacobra irgendwie zu unserer Familie.Mein Großvater war Jagdflieger beim JG 52.Er erzielte 5 Luftsiege,eine Pe 2 und vier Airacobras vom Sommer 1943 bis Januar 1944.Ein Landeunfall mit seiner Bf 109 beendete seine Flugkarriere,was ihm wohl das Leben rettete. Grüße aus Leipzig, Deutschland
