Complete opposite here... I like the Gecko-engine of Firefox and for me Firefox has a similar quality in consuming VODs / videostreams and a better quality in audio. Especially audio in Firefox for me sounds a bit clearer and not that dull and a bit more bass-heavy, like in Chrome. And I'm a user, who wants to use software, which respects my privacy. Yes, Firefox stocked up a bit with some telemetry settings. But you can disable them in about:config and else Firefox even in stock comes with good privacy. And Firefox consumes much less RAM (at least on all my machines with Firefox installed).

I have found that chatgpt is quite good on linux questions, and has helped me solve problems. It seems to be less good on electronics, and worthless on social-cultural-political issues.

Firefox is far from dead, but far from being the most used browser! Mobile version sucks, but I think its really the only alternative you have to Chromium based browsers. Suppose you could use a Firefox derivative, such as Tor, Waterfox, or LibreWolf

So, I bought Kensington Expert yesterday. It's okay that I miss everything with the cursor and do everything slowly, I just need to get used to it. It's okay that it's hard to move the cursor exactly one pixel, who needs it anyway But my wrist hurst like never before after 30 minutes of using it unless I hold my hand in the air That sucks I'm so disappointed =(

The only reason I went back to windows, was that l was in the middle of an assignment with a deadline on a course that cost over $1000, and 2 other courses that needed video conferencing for accreditation. My laptop froze because it needed some updates that l didn't know how to do safely without risking my half completed assignments. I couldn't find anyone in my area who l could pay to do the updates for me, and the local library didn't have facilities for video conferencing on their computers.... so l decided to buy a new laptop immediately so I could get my assignments in on time. My options that week were pretty tight, but I was sucessful. I got 97% on one class, and passed the other classes quite nicely. It was incredibly stressful to set up and relearn new programs on the new windows laptop while completing assignments all in 3 days. It was the cheapest laptop l could find on the day, but It took me months to recover from the stress. ( I had already asked for extensions, so l couldn't do that again)... This week I am ready to learn how to install linux on my laptop and start again. I'm definitely someone who prefers the customisation of Linux, and after hearing your clearly presented, logical reasons for and against, I am so much more confident in that decision. Thanks!😂

Mullvad browser is the only good firefoxed based browser choice. As far as I'm concerned. I like brave for a privacy respecting chromium browser. I'm trying out different chromium based browsers for everyday normal use. Trying Vivaldi now. I think my browser choices in the future will be using mullvad, brave, and then whatever the 3rd not privacy focused one ends up being.

I switched from Firefox to Chrome in 2009 for the same reasons that most people did. Chrome provided a better experience, but I still kept Firefox around as a backup. Firefox landed on my "ish list" in 2014 after Brendan Eich was outed over his stance against same-sex marriage. I haven't used any Mozilla products since.

Depends on the person, some it's people who don't care, but then there's others who experience time blindness (like me (: ) because of their adhd. Obviously those struggling with time blindness need to find a solution, but for the few mess ups here and there, that's where we ask for kindness. What I'll say: you know what's worse? People who are early. Atleast with them being late you can do some work in the mean time, or some leisure like reading a comic -- but them being early over writes what current task you're doing and messes you up. It feels like a punishment for daring to have a schedule. Oh also: "I don't know how the world sees you". Oh we know, average Joe see us as hyper active squirels, forgetful people; and the state plus corportations see us as misbehaving cogs in the machine :) .
