Early detection is so important with heart valve issues -- as with so many other diseases. My mother was told she had an aortic valve that was 95% closed, when she was 92 years old. Why wasn't she told this when her valve was 50% closed and much younger? Of course, open-heart surgery was out of the question at 92; so was a transcatheter. A year later she passed. Had the replacement been done earlier she could have lived for at least another 5 years.

The only difference between my annual physical and an office visit with current PCP is blood work. My former doctor of 30 years would give me a thorough physical that included checking my heart, lungs, eyes, ears, throat, stomach, legs, feet, strength in arms, reflexes, balance test and bloodwork. I miss those days.

Its a possibility i have dementia at 55. I have type 2 diabetes. Eyesight is getting harder. I take metformin, Prozac, bupropion, atorvastatin, fenofibrate, inject insulin and mounjaro, take vitamin d. I work a stressful job in a hotel in housekeeping as a house person . I only work 4 days due to its stressful nature. 15 miles by bus transportation. Get paid biweekly, wage over 15 but less than 20. Job stress is a major factor in most people's lives, especially the life/work balance.

I’m 16 and have this issue with remembering things. I’m a person that could remember everything even when I was 2 years old. I could think so well until I made a someone stupid decision (but not really for other people) anyways, I once decided to take an edible months ago (50mg) yes I’m dumb, say whatever you want but never again. I felt like Iost some part in me, and I had derealization for a few days. Mind you I have eczema, currently taken Adbry, last took Doxycycline a few weeks ago. My memory loss went away for quite some time, then whenever I took the Doxycycline, I almost forgot everything, even I couldn’t form a sentence, or even be aware of my surroundings. Just like when I took the Edible, but worse. Not taking the medication anymore, but I don’t feel like the same person anymore. I’m scared to tell my parents that I did that. I don’t remember stuff from a month ago unless I try really hard. Someone help me, God bless you!

"It will raise your cholesterol which leads to heart disease..." And the scientific research that proves this is what? This is more like religion that science. Seems like every You Tube video that says "From an accredited US hosptal" is like a Bible study class. Lots of claims without evidence. The fact that these claims have been made over and over doesn't make them true. There is no, I repeat, no RCT (randomized control study) that establishes this as scientifically proven. All studies that claim that raising one's cholesterol leads to heart disease are associational--and no associational study establishes causation. What will it take to overcome this religious thinking in the medical and nutricsal fields?

I am glad that you have had a positive outcome from your surgery. I had a Edwards aortic valve in Feb 2021. Before the surgery, I could comfortably swim 4 laps underwater on a single breath, now I struggle to exceed 2. It has been a live diminshing experience with constant fatigue, dizziness chest pain from the time of the surgery. I have sacked the cardiologist and regret ever consenting to the irreversible surgery. I rate my capacity at sbout 60% of my preoperative capacity.
