Early detection is so important with heart valve issues -- as with so many other diseases. My mother was told she had an aortic valve that was 95% closed, when she was 92 years old. Why wasn't she told this when her valve was 50% closed and much younger? Of course, open-heart surgery was out of the question at 92; so was a transcatheter. A year later she passed. Had the replacement been done earlier she could have lived for at least another 5 years.

The only difference between my annual physical and an office visit with current PCP is blood work. All studies that claim that raising one's cholesterol leads to heart disease are associational--and no associational study establishes causation. What will it take to overcome this religious thinking in the medical and nutricsal fields?

My memory has always been decent but recently, lack of quality sleep has negatively affected it. Guys please make sure you have a good sleep schedule you stick too. It's extremely important

I am glad that you have had a positive outcome from your surgery. I had a Edwards aortic valve in Feb 2021. Before the surgery, I could comfortably swim 4 laps underwater on a single breath, now I struggle to exceed 2. It has been a live diminshing experience with constant fatigue, dizziness chest pain from the time of the surgery.
