I now have a set of Rocky Road Super Sliders waiting for install. Thats my only regret as the RRO sliders are almost 1/3 the price, but actually offer protection. Have you looked into Morimoto for off-road lighting? I haven’t used them myself, but from videos I’ve seen, they seem to be the best out there (though also the most expensive). Also, is it possible to buy amber lens for your lights? Not sure if that works, but I’ve seen some pods that come with interchangeable lenses, so maybe? Thanks for the content. Wishing the best for your dad!

Aftermarket wk2 parts are extremely limited especially in Canada I wheel with JK guys so I've pushed my wk2 farther then I ever thought possible with this platform but not without damage. I made myself rock sliders and skid plates I'm still working on a total flat belly for sliding over larger rocks because I get hung up pretty often wheeling with JK's. Thses things hang the gas tanks so low I'm always worried I'm going to poke a hole in them so I've plated them. I'm still on factory upper arms but get a little coil rub at full droop and my alignment is not exactly where I would want for on road use but on the trails it's fine I'm probably going to get the JBA upper arms soon.
@GrandExploration4 күн бұрын
I’m definitely looking at the JBA. Only problem is you have to use their ball joints so if they stop making them or go out of biz. Your screwed. And yes a set of gas tank skids would be nice for sure

The first hill would have been good to round up the jeeps in a circle pointing out, do a drone flight from the bottom as all of he headlight come on, on each jeep and go around them on the hill. Great shot. Looked like perfect place to camp out. Do you have any good recommendations for 2WD Overland trails?

@Introverted_Outlander6 күн бұрын
As a former performance suspension engineer for a major American auto manufacturer, I would just stay with the factory OEM upper control arms. They’re inexpensive readily available, and if you have a continuous problem with bending them, and you can always weld the gossip across the top.
@Introverted_Outlander6 күн бұрын
In regards to rock rails, I have a factory Trailhawk I don’t believe there’s any kind of protection behind the plastic cladding. And my 3 1/2 years of full-time extensive Overland I’ve never had a need for a rock rail. I do not and I do not put my One and Only residential vehicle into a situation or I could damage it. The advantage, I could see them when another vehicle damages the side of your vehicle like I had happened with my red Jeep WK2 LTD, and an errant driver, not paying attention back right in the side of it. I think an aggressive rock rail that protrudes the body may have mitigated most of that damage. If you’re interested, there’s photos on my Instagram. I would contact a local fabricator. There’s lots of good fabricators up in Washington from the aerospace Marine industry, and just welded something to your existing rails.

Hey man, regarding your upper control arm bushings. The assembly order should look as follows. Put the control arm into, put the screws in, but dont tighten. Install the steering knuckle etc. Then lift the axle with some hydraulic tool, like the car is standing on the tyre. Now tighten the screws. If you squeeze the bushings in the wrong Position, they gonna rip. If you have done it like this, then i dont know ;) Thx for your videos, i enjoy them. Also followed your recommendation for the smartphone holder. Installed one left, one right, 3d-printed some adapters, mounted an aluminum rail over both and put an offroad navigation tablet on it.
