Oh My Gosh yes the 1980s was the best time to be a kid especially if you were in the preschool age very early in the decade like I was.

Best time ever to be a kid. I remember all of this like it was yesterday. I had all of them "Stinky Stickers" and was a huge collector of the Wacky Packages as well. We lived on our B.M.X. bikes and played video games while we roamed the neighborhood until the street lights came on. Such a great time and memories that I'll cherish forever.

in 1980 I turned 6 years old in September , my oldest sister was 12 & my other sister turned 9 in November Mama was 32 & Dad was 38 , mom stayed at home & kept house made sure we got off to school while dad worked , he is a retired carpenter , but when he worked he worked sometimes 12 to 15 hours in a day , he worked through the carpenters union so he never had to look for a job , the union found work for him & he never turned down a job even if the work lasted a day he went , & most times the job might last a few months , but I remember so well the summer of 1982 when he went out on the job at EPCOT CENTER he worked all summer went out there in May & lasted through first part of September , let's just say dad usually made about $45,000 a year in the 80's , we never went without , didn't always get what we wanted but got what we needed, got our asses whipped when we needed it , mama dared us to call HRS she said she would give them a reason to come out, but all in all they were good times , I'm 47 now , Michele (my oldest sister) 54, Kathy is 50, Mama is 74 & Dad is 80 , I wish I could re live the 80's

I like how the end was just black.... cuz yeah... us 80's kids are the last born free. The latter ... bred in captivity. Man I wish my kids could feel what I felt as a kid.

I'm from 1972 & I had my hands on most of what was shown here for realsies. Blockbuster however didn't become apparent until the 90's & it was mostly a Mom & Pop Operation at the time. I can't help but miss Weekday cartoons before & after school, Saturday Mornings were way easier to wake up to since school wasn't an issue then, followed by cartoons on Sunday Morning between 9-10:30am...that is if you weren't too busy getting suited up for church (😰). Before NES, you found the likes of Atari in Electronics. KZfaq & nostalgia like this is as close as 1 gets to Time Travel. It will do, for now😌.

This video is wrong in so many ways. Items that were 50s include the swing-set, Nestle's Quik, Silly Putty, mechanical horse, baseball card in spoke, That color TV is from the early 70s, so is the stero, thermostat, phone, cassette tape. Gas at 55c. I don't think so! Last I remember it was minimum $1.99gal in the 80s. I can go on and on.

I would give up all the convenience of today to go back to those days. Today everyone is so shallow, entitled, and fake. Whenever I feel low I get nostalgic and remember those days. No real pressure, no real stress, good times, good friends, good memories. No one speaks of a decay like the 80’s. A toast, to absent times and absent friends.

Nailed it! All of the sudden, I feel grateful for the time I grew up in (born in 75), and for my parents and what they gave me as a kid. I also feel further detached from a time that made sense and was good, and lonely as hell. I wish for my kids that they could experience the time I lived in for a month, but then they would be as depressed as I am, and that would be cruel.
