So, this was not my car, ever drive a car without power steering? That is the case in this video. Steering was not locked, it was hard to steer/turn since its loss power.

He didn’t had to remove the Brake pedal or whatever he removed . I replaced mine and only took about 10 min .. 🤦🏻♂️

Compressor I bought came pre-filled w/ oil, I used impact wrench/ratchet and some standard ratchet, and you discharge so that it doesn’t blow freon in the atmosphere, it’s dangerous to the ozone and dangerous for us, it could just burst in your face due to the pressure built inside.

So I just did my bottome seat today. I bought my seat from texan on ebay. Lengthy process. Just take your time and don't rush it. It took me between 5-6 hours . The hardest part was figuring out where to start the hog rings. I had to do half up both sides and then the middle. Then I finished the sides and did the front. Not the worst job but I should have waited until it was nice and cool. Good luck!

Did you have your refrigerant evacuated before you did the replacement? My 2008 RDX is having the same problem. I just don't want to spend so much money by bringing it to the shop. I just want to copy what you did so I can save money but I want to get the steps right and not mess up. Thank you in advance.

Yes, I took it to a shop to get the Freon evac, after install, I took it back to get charged up

So you can do all the other steps except removing the ac lines, keep that intact and move the compressor up to where you a see the clutch.

The shop I took my car to said I needed to also replace the condenser and accumulator to get the warranty because of metal shavings in the system. I’ve never personally worked on ac systems so I don’t know if that’s right or not. Thoughts?

Shops could perform test on your compressor but it’s hard to tell whether metal shaving exists in lines or not, but it’s not uncommon, it really depends on your compressor issue and what symptoms it’s presenting. Technically you’ll have to replace the entire system, which is very costly, but will save you from future problems if done correctly. I believe you need a 2nd opinion on this matter, you don’t have to go to one shop to have it looked at.

The shop is correct. The manufacturer needs a proof that you replaced those parts at the same time in order to get the warranty for the compressor in case it fails

The steering itself? Not really, no mod needed, almost a plug and play, only mod needed is the wiring for horn and cruise control.
