I think if I would have seen this version first, I wouldn't have finished watching it. The 2020 added life to a mediocre storyline.

Kate before she lowered her voice tone, plumped up her breasts & wore an imperious ‘come get me’ pout and pouff sex kitten hair - her every inch of camera shot since after her early period dramas. Not a flick of any here. Pure & Practically unrecognisable. She doesn’t conjour that pose ever any more. Not because ‘she’s an actress in a role’ but because my only guess is she’s a seductress on the prowl. These decades afterwards - bore one to tears.Pretty poor really, all that bouffant & devil may care ‘dirty ditty dry wit’ - is tiresome to observe. Sad really & super strange how she changed .

Best lines in this episode, IMO.., 🤔 "Gossip, is something to make me know my own species better." 🙄 "To be 'au fait' with the latest ways of being trifling and silly." 🥴 Although.., 😏 ... Ironically.., "A gossip, separates close friends." 😶 A gentle tongue will rebuke at times, never out of pique, but always for the good of the hearer. Words from a friend pointing out a fault will hurt, but they come from a heart of faithful love. The gentle tongue instructs, speaking wisdom, with words that fit each situation, line apples of gold in a silver setting.

As honorable as they all act ....their fancy attire could not be described as honorable but as licentious.

I have to say the gentleness of the brother to the sister in helping her decide that she should leave to tell their parents brought tears to my eyes. I think we need a revolution of women that would act like ladies again so that the men can be men. If a man spoke to me gently and lovingly how it would affect me!

Wentworth tried to get with Louisa and he was mystified about Benwick choosing her. Both men saw her as a nymph who would liven their boring existence.

Patricia Routledge is a genius as Mrs. Jennings. I only regret that she never played Mrs. Bennet In Pride and Prejudice. That would have been fun!

Andrew Davies gives me the icks. I never interpreted that scene where she walks to Netherfield as a moment Mr Darcy falls in lust with Elizabeth. He looks more stratled, suprised and annoyed than turned on, thankfully. We’re lucky we had such amazing actors for 1995 mini series so we got a soft building UST instead of whatever he intended. I think it’s clear from the novel - it’s her personality, wit and teasing that slowly start to pick up his interest. He is not interested until he starts interacting with her. That’s when he starts getting captivared by her eyes etc. He’s more demisexual if anything.

So wonderfully dreadful. I don't know whose wigs are worse, the women’s or the men’s? Sir John sounds like someone from a Monty Python sketch and is Edward Ferris trying to control a stutter?? Hilarious.
