Wow. The voices are amazing. Are these new voice actors or are you using some type of deep fake technology? I would love to watch more animated features with these voices and the remaining living cast members Takei, Koenig and Shatner. Maybe find another voice for Uhura and perhaps for Chapel.

All of the voices were generated by Eleven Labs' A.I. speech synthesis algorithm. Sadly, fan films are not allowed to hire any actors who appeared in Star Trek...not that I could ever afford Shatner's rate anyway! 🙂 For more about the making of this fan film and the A.I. process, check out this blog: fanfilmfactor.com/2024/04/29/how-i-used-a-i-technology-to-bring-the-voices-of-spock-and-mccoy-back-to-life-in-an-absent-friend-part-1-the-audio/

@@jonathanlane1377Yes it was proposed as Star Trek 6. Kirk and crew were to take the Enterprise A into a vortex and meet up with Enterprise E crew. Similar circumstances. I think Happy Gilmore Castillo was written for Kirk. This might have worked well. Kirk had to make a decision to stay in the alternate future or go back a face certain death. Probably some historical epilogue would have been written saying that the old Enterprise crew died saving the Klingons from a Romulan attack.
@SnowDaulphin
@SnowDaulphin 9 күн бұрын
@@jonathanlane1377Not entirely the plan but they were discussing with Nimoy about plans for a transition movie and it was rumored they were considering this script which went through many rewrites to bring the old fold in a movie. “While discussing the ingenious alternate timeline worldbuilding of the episode, Moore also offered another amusing observation: He almost wishes the episode hadn't happened, so he could have used the same concept for Star Trek Generations four years later. "If we hadn't have done that episode, then [the movie] would have been the Enterprise-A coming through that wormhole, and you'd have Spock and Kirk and everyone on that ship, we'd play the same story," Moore said. "They - the original crew - they had to go back to their deaths. And Guinan knew Kirk, and Guinan knew Picard, and that would have been an amazing movie."”

This or something similar should have been done in the movie. Right after the Enterprise B fly-by of the "camera" and before the fade to the Enterprise schooner. Spacedock probably has a few bars, it could have taken place there. This is wonderful and great job!

McCoy is angry and drunk. He's just lost his closest, oldest friend, and his anger has no place to focus itself. The first "victim" is that poor bottle of bourbon. But when Spock arrives, he becomes the most convenient punching bag. Some people need that when they mourn, and if they are lucky, they have a friend who is strong enough and cares enough to be willing to provide it. And note that McCoy's anger dissipated quickly. He realized that Spock was hurting, too, and misery loves miserable company...even if the latter can't actually show how miserable it truly is. Ultimately, the two men connect on a special level, as they need each other to get themselves through and past this loss.
