I see you insisted to the man: Are you African American or Mexican? bruh what a dumb question, in México you’re Mexican and that’s it we Mexicans do not fracture our selfs into a million pieces like you American citizens. Being Mexican is a nationality NOT race, like when you said he married a black woman and the other guy a mexican, I mean wtf we got that clear but other people from other countries don’t. It’s just a complete different culture and point of view for example you can call black peoples negro in Mexico and nobody’s gets offended or feels discriminated.

Typically it has always been said that Mexico has 3 roots: the Native American root, the European (Spanish although there are different types of European ancestry in Mexico since the colony) and the African root which is the least known and that for decades Mexicans did not look at although I have to say that in me it was almost very different. My mother's brother married an Afro-descendant from Veracruz. I have another aunt of indigenous origin, actually Mexicans, almost all of us have indigenous ancestry.

We have a ton of black Mexicans, and yet, no black crime. Why is that? Because we treated them as equals since 1810, with no Jim Crow laws, red lining, lynching, racial terrorism, over policing, mass incarceration, or sundown towns. Result? A racially peaceful and integrated society. Our only problem is organize crime. If Mexico solves that soon, it will be paradise on earth, and I will come back to the mother land.

My father, grandfather and great grandfather were from Muzquiz not too far from Nacimiento de los negros as the community was called during the time my immediate family lived in Coahuila. Most are in San Antonio, Del Rio , or New Braunfels , Texas. My grandfather and father were both dark skinned I’m wondering if maybe they were part mascogo? Or other African country? Both gone now … so if you have elder familymembers still living ask questions before it’s too late 😢
