You never talked about noise over certain areas like you said you were going to. Perhaps an update in the comments here?

Moving here from Philly last Summer, I love the Gerald R. Ford airport. I travel for business quite a bit and most of my destinations domestically can be non-stop. 5 min. TSA lines are hard to beat and not worth the cost of TSA pre-check.

Wake surfing in these smaller lakes is not a good idea. Particularly if they are shallow and narrow in spots. The ballast used to make a surf wake carries all the way to shore and dissipates slowly. I lived on a 400 acre lake that was shaped more narrow with big open areas. I never filled my ballast tanks and surfed until we built on a larger lake. Much larger at 5,900 acres with areas near 30' deep. That area and depth is needed to mitigate any damage to the lake bottom and shoreline.

It's gay. It's ping pong masquerading as tennis. It's for old rich people. Here at the jersey shore in all the rich areas by the beach it has taken over ALL of the tennis courts all summer long with rich middle age white people. It's nauseating. That's pickle ball

Are there people of colour in this neighborhood? I am sorry for asking this question, I don't mean to be offensive. Also, what about crime rate? Shootings? I applied for a job in Grand Rapids and that introduced me to this city and I have been watching many videos about the city. Got scared because I read the crime rate is high in the city.

I agree with these states on the list. I like Grand Rapids the most on the list but actually Michigan has a few more hot cities and housing markets worthy to mention such as city of Kalamazoo (Rated coolest city in America back in 2022), Traverse city (rated No. 1 lake beach town in America) and the city of Holland (Rated Happiest City in America). I should also mention that both Kalamazoo and Holland has heated streets and sidewalks in their downtowns better known as snow melt system. Anyhow you never mentioned that Grand Rapids hosts the largest Art event in the world each year (ArtPrize) and that all of the cities that I mentioned above were designated as Cool Cities by the former governor. No mention of the downtown Farmers market either nor all of the universities and colleges that are located in Grand Rapids. Even the three top ranked research universities: Western Michigan University, University of Michigan and MSU have satellite campuses in downtown Grand Rapids. Lots of diversity throughout Grand Rapids too. Lastly, Forbes Magazine rated Grand Rapids number one in the country as a place to raise a family with much economical opportunities. . And its true, many are moving out of California and some are ending up in Michigan though Illinois resident have been relocating to Michigan the most. www.forbes.com/pictures/eddf45gihi/no-1-grand-rapids-michigan/?sh=568b2de833cd Amazing video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oq-RntVq3NHNe30.html www.wsjm.com/2022/09/20/worlds-largest-art-competition-artprize-underway-in-grand-rapids/ www.forbes.com/pictures/584052464bbe6f1f20e8247f/6-grand-rapids-michigan/?sh=46bc413478a0 www.inc.com/jeff-barrett/why-grand-rapids-is-one-of-fastest-growing-cities-in-america-a-hotbed-for-entrepreneurs.html www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/2021/11/see-where-grand-rapids-areas-asian-population-has-grown-the-most.html www.grr.org/news/usa-today-best-small-airport#:~:text=Press%20Release%20%7C%20Share-,Ford%20International%20Airport%20Voted%20the%20Best%20Small%20Airport%20in%20the,Awards%20for%20best%20small%20airport.

Wow you messed up about Grand Rapids. Grand Rapids is known for medicine. Grand Rapids also has a trademark for being diverse, clean, affordable and artsy. In fact, the largest art event in the world is in Grand Rapids ( Art Prize) Grand Rapids also has over 80 international companies and the largest data center in the USA. So many universities are located actually in the city of Grand Rapids including the doctoral research universities such as Western Michigan University, university of Michigan and Michigan State University

Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo ( rated coolest city in 2022) and Ann Arbor are all thriving, exciting and vibrant but I would say Grand Rapids is the best of them all. Holland is worthy to mention as is Traverse city too

What I find puzzling is there is absolutely no information about the homes that were demolished in the Heritage Hill neighborhood, the street called Tyler Ct that had homes on either side is not even a part of the history of Grand Rapids. I lived on this street in the 60's and remember them kicking people out of their homes because the hospital wanted the land and they sat vacant for a few years, why is there no history about this street ever existing?

Too bad more communities don't offer the walkability of East GR, at least in and around the Gaslight Village area. But, no, people have to have their sprawling subdivisions with total dependence on vehicles, cul de sacs, no sidewalks, and only one way in and out to a main drag and the big boxes with the acres of parking lots. Then they complain about the traffic to get there.

My dad was an ATC at the Kent County Airport back in the day. I was there as a child when it opened in 1963. Even though I haven't lived in the GR area for decades, I still visit and fly in and out of GRR. It has changed A LOT! I was knocked over this fall (2023) when I saw the beautiful new concourse expansion and they aren't done. Btw, I live in Denver and it's very easy to fly direct. There are more direct flights to other cities than mentioned here.

Caledonia is just becoming another Sprawlsville, USA. Strip development, destroyed farm fields and wildlife habitat, big lot/energy guzzling McMansions and yards, traffic congestion and demands for road widening projects that drivers complain about, etc. In a few years, many residents will move further out because Caledonia is getting too "citiified" and crowded.
