They need to hire more staff because the staff who work on the frontline are fantastic and patient but they need more! I bet he doesn’t know about the damage to the pool in Skegness!

I worked at Minehead as security in 1990, and the staff accommodation was diabolical. Food was disgusting I'd go off site to get non perishable food, mainly because we were not allowed to cook in our room. I had a fantastic time working there, but would never go back for a holiday. Yes the old butlins had a family atmosphere unlike the new pavilion type.

It was much better value for money in the past. Now you have to pay for everything seperate. Pity they got rid of the monorail and cable cars as well.

No, it was way better pre-make over...There were 2 games rooms - free snooker, table-tennis, darts. There was a fabulous theatre for free shows, and doubled as a free cinema showing movies in the afternoon. There was a free roller-skating rink, free monorail around the front buildings, free chairlift from front to back of the camp. There was even a small train that went all round the camp - and guess what? It was free too. There was a free-funfair, free outdoor pool (and free indoor pool) and free mini-golf. Donkey-derby, 3 amusement arcades (not free). So how is getting rid of nearly all the fun things to do (mostly free stuff) an improvement??? Money well wasted...

Why did they have to destroy them. They looked nice then. Much better than now. Wish someone would buy that Mosney site who would restore it back to how it was. That's the only one left more or less as it was. Would make a great visitor attraction as one of those living museums.

£1.5mil for 8 computers..... In 1999... No chance... Should have hired me... The best computer in 1999 would have been £3,000 Say you wanted 10 of those, that's £30,000... Maybe they needed a server? Call it £200,000 for a nice one.... So there's £230,000 😂 Then some BNC or Cat6 laid out over the offices? Add another £200,000 at the very most 😂 Call it £450,000... So someone made over a million somewhere 😂 Just on I.T. 😂 Shoulda called me 😂

Absolutely lovely video, and with the drone footage you really get a great idea of the scale. How much walking we all did as staff. You were lovely and respectful around the entire resort. The team accommodation now looks a little soulless. I'm amazed at how many seem to have cars. Hardly anyone did when I was there in the early-1990s. Sad to see our sheds have been bulldozed.

Hi, you imply that the team diner has moved. I worked there when all staff were fed (paid for of course) and very few staff had any cooking facilities. Certainly nobody below management level. We used to serve in excess of a couple of thousand meals a day. to staff, more on a Friday and Monday when the cleaners from Bridgwater arrived by the coach load. Where is the staff canteen now? Michael 1984-1998. Enjoyed your walk through the camp. I worked there for 15 seasons and (mainly) it was a hoot. It has changed a lot. Take care!

Chris and Lucy. Well firstly thank you, the reason the video flashed up to me was you bought me on a trip down memory lane and it sounds like you started on resort soon after I left. Yes I'm ex team too, I did Resort Safety(always Security sorry not sorry), I did April 2001 to just before christmas 2006. Just as a bit of extra info for you guys the Beachcomber was infact the name of a multi purpose building where Studio 36 is now. The actual area the Beachcomber Pub sits on was called the Sun and Moon before then and before that Tom Cobleighs. From what with you saying you were there 15 years ago, you must have started around 2008. Great to know you through the madness that is KZfaq.
