Nice video! I have the canon R50 and the kit lens RFs 18-45mm f4.5-6.3 IS STM. But can't do MF. Any suggestions? AlsoYour kit lens look different.. the front glass is alot bigger on yours. What lens did you use? Thanks

@@ThisThenThat670 thanks for watching. Press the MF button on the back of the camera. Front glass is a filter. Enjoy the R50 - it’s a great beginner camera. Push its limitations. @cre8r61 thanks! And I've done just that. Nothing happens. I've also gone in to menu under AF tab then down to focus mode and tried there. I get a promt saying "Restricted by the following settings or conditions. Focus/control ring. I've also gone to customized buttons/ring. There is no option for MF.

Hey mate. Only just found your channel, was looking for a fellow Australian. Currently looking at getting back into a camera, rather than just using phone. My experience: I have a drone (replaced a few times, DJI Mavic Pro 2), currently up to 875km flight distance in total, 100 hours. Been flying since about 2015. Samsung Note 20 currently, over 11,000 photo's spread over all my phones. First ones were IPhone 4, first and last Apple product. Samsung camera so much better. Still have a film version camera in shed. (Nikon F801s) Currently looking at the R50. Seems to be better than Nikon Z50. Is the R50 a good camera? Looking at the twin lenses deal about $1,500. Types of photo's I want to get into. Landscapes mostly. Nature. But also would like to get into night photo's etc. This the way to go? Add camera case, and couple of tripods obviously. Assume u don't need cable releases these days to avoid camera shake.

@@rickyellard8297 hey there. Thanks for watching. I went from Minolta (film back in the day) to the M50 and now the R50. Love this camera and it’s fun exploring lens options these days. R50 with an adapter for EF to R mount and then pick up some cheap 2nd ef lenses. The twin lens kit is the one I have and the 55-210mm is a capable zoom. I love the TTArtisans 10mm and their 25mm on the RF mount - both manual lenses and great value. Cheers and good luck with the R50

This does not work for the Canon R50 Camera, as the battery Door DOES NOT CLOSE due to the width of the cord..The version of his camera has a latch next to the battery door to accommodate the width of the cord to the dummy battery...not every canon R50 has this latch feature...so be careful..if it does not...this Dummy battery will NOT work.

Hello again and thanks for watching and reaching out - I have the K&F 49mm polarize filter geni.us/Ar089M and the K&F Variable ND filter geni.us/c1di9. These are cheap options that work well. A polarize filter is good for helping to remove glare from a reflective surface like water or car paint (there's a technique to this with the alignment of the sun for the best results), whereas the variable ND is great for trying to achieve long exposure in daylight or darkening an over-exposed image when the sunlight is too harsh and you cannot make the ISO lower. Hope this information helps :)

Thanks for watching. The second hand market often has bargains (I love a bargain) and the M50 is worth a look. This is still a great camera. Pair this with a ef to m adapter and purchase some ef lenses and you’ve future protected yourself when you look to upgrade your camera later down the track

So the problem I’m running into is I can only use 1 output at a time on my m50, such as if I plug in the hdmi it works fine with the I.T. And same for the usb. But if I try to use both it won’t display video? Any ideas? Maybe enable remote control or something?

I think I had the same issue - if you use the Micro USB with power this doesn't work BUT use a micro USB cable it works. Not sure if this works with a later version of the transmitter. The m50 isn't supported by Zhiyun but I made it work somehow. Thanks for watching and reaching out

Hey thanks for dropping by. Most notably the 1.1.0 firmware update adds support for the RF-S 10-18mm IS STM lens. I’ve heard that the update has disabled some adapted lenses but have not been able to substantiate this myself. If it ain’t broke why fix it? From the canon website the update seems extensive for 1.2 but only available for windows (I’m on Mac)

Get the 18-150 mm. It is faster and sharper than the 18-45 mm and you likely will not need the 55-210 mm at all. Especially for a beginner it is good if on does not need to change lenses constantly Even with the longer kit lens it is smaller tan a typical DSLR.

First of all thank you for your great content, secondly I hope you get to see and answer my concerns in regards of my new canon r50.. in first charge I noticed the charger and battery got noticeably hot within 40 mins which got me really concerned! Please help and let me know if its normal or not?

People are so nervous about touching the sensor! It's OK if you're careful and use the proper swabs. Most the time a blower or brush will do the job just fine - My favorite is the arctic butterfly

Yes the arctic butterfly is a great product. I guess people are scared as a damaged sensor means replacing a camera. If there's dust in a lens - just replace the lens. Thanks for watching

Hey thanks for dropping by. I don't have that specific tech but have had a little look for you :) With the R50 in Movie Mode press the Menu button and go to WRENCH Tab (Yellow Menu), page 3 HDMI Resolution and set to AUTO. It should match the Elegato 4k. (Auto = The images displayed will automatically be displayed at the optimum resolution for matching the connect television). If this menu item is greyed out go to the PLAY Tab (Blue Menu), page 4 and change HDMI HDR output to Off. Not sure of this will work for you but it's worth a shot. Cheers

That's GREAT news! The R50 is a great camera that will do the job AND the Canon RF 16mm is a good match if you're looking to move up from the 18-45mm kit lens.
