The 70's were the best decade ever. People had fun, socialized and didn't exist in a techno-bubble society.

The song and video touched my heart..My husband, Lou Puckett, deployed to Vietnam in 1970..He served with the 9th infantry division (mech) as a combat medic..Awarded the Purple Heart in Country..Passed away in 2012..It doesn’t hurt any less, 11 years later. RIP Lou Puckett 06/29/1948-11/19/2012.♥️

1968 was the year I was born. What a time from then to now. What a huge decline in our country. You have to live life to the fullest because you only get one ticket to ride. No restarts in this game kids...

Thank you for this video and song. It makes me think that this generation you captured in this marvelous video, was the last to be raised by a stay at home mom...after Viet Nam the push to have moms work was as intense as those who worked during WWII war effort...(Aaron Russo talked about it as intentional to break up families that led to children who developed manipulation or sarcasm we see in youth today, some of them of course not all but some ). The gentle polite interchange of genuine joy that we see in this video shows a surety of who the youth were in that era...a secure people who had a pace of life that had respect and not urgency.... (not realizing that the Viet Nam experience was going to shake us all up). I am a bit younger but your smiles in this video remind me of when people were more secure than the youth are now these days... I thank you.

I was listening to WEER the night Ricky Nelson was killed. New Year Eve 1985. Anyone remember the young woman DJ who worked there? She was on the air that night. .

Very pleasant, warm and cherished memories. I recall these gatherings of conviviality and happiness. There's a young lady reminiscent of my young bride of less than one year before I left for Vietnam with the Marines. Bless her. I came back a changed man, but fulfilled my marriage vows. She passed on due to a stroke but our sole child, a son has flourished into a fine Christian man. I've been fortunate to this point to have lived a full life. For this I give love and full credit to God.

What a perfect piece. I am 74 now and this video could have been made at my house with my firends and my parents in 1968. Only the faces would be different. It completely captures the time.

My father served in the US Army's special forces at An Loc, then the Republic of Vietnam Navy. This year he is 74 years old, working as a farmer in a poor countryside, with a hobby of growing trees. Wish you health. Thanks and Respect.

Former Fauquierian here, and this really takes me back...the radio bug bit me in my youth and I managed to schmooze into both WEER and Big K (when their studio was across from the courthouse). I also recall when the AM moved from 1570 to 1250 because the bleed from WPGC was killing them on the radios of the day. (Also when the FM was only 3kw and barely made it to both ends of the county.) Were you around long enough to work with the tall, red-headed station manager (Eric? Jorgenson?). When I was old enough, I made an audition tape for him in the tiny production room (it looked exactly like one of the rooms in that NAB footage!).

I saw the original. It was wonderful and so is this. Roy Clark and this song are minor miracles. Thank you so much for this. I was just looking across the room at the pictures of my parents on the ledge -- gone since 2007 -- and suddenly missed them terribly in my heart -- right before this came up. We cannot recall even 1% of what happened in our lives, what we saw and heard, what we said and what people said to us -- even most of the most important things are incomplete recollections. We chase our own past with butterfly nets, desperate to remember and recapture the stream but never able to do it. It is always out of reach. You were able to preserve a little bit here. Congratulations. 1/12/23.

If I could save time in a bottle...look back and we recall the people, the times we felt God's goodness, love and beauty in the songs, joy, warmth, love, smells and just moments. Make every moment, every day and every person become a wonderful memory in the future. Thank You Lord above.
