Hello Alan. Long time no see. Steve Griffiths here ex Rhodia. Randomly found this video and watched until you started to speak and thought hello! you look and sound familiar. Quickly realised. I'm still fishing although now with the luxury of my own boat at Portishead. Had some great days out there (also many blanks). Great video and drone footage. Best Regards.

Hi Alan my name is Stephen i am from Bridgend and would love to fish chesil beach but can't walk to far any good marks you could recommend please thanks.stephen
@fishingatАй бұрын
Hi Stephen, thanks for watching. The chesil marks I've fished - Ferrybridge, Abbotsbury, West Bexington and Cogden all have car parks. Easiest for access are Abbotsbury (Straight up wooden planked path to top of shingle bank) and West Bexington (Straight onto beach) . Cogden and Ferrybridge are a bit more of a walk . Problem at Chesil this time of year are the big numbers of mackerel fishermen that tend to fish close to the car parks .. so it's a bit of a lottery until you arrive and see what the space is like. Other options like Hive beach (West Bay) are available but never fished there. There is also the Masonic car park at the Portland end of the beach but you have to get up / over the steep shingle bank. I've not fished chesil now for 2-3 months so no recent experience - good luck. Google maps is good to look at

Sorry to hear about the injury fella, that path can be a tricky one in the wet. As for the fishing, I've found that it fishes better on tides 11.5m+ (Cardiff scale). There's a channel that runs along the beach where the fish hold up. Best session I've had included, dogs, pouting, blondes, small eyed and a surprise hound caught on Bluey. Hope you get back to the beach soon! Tight lines.

I've been toying with the idea of using split rings and I'm pretty sure I caught a glimpse of one of your circle hooks on a ring of some sort, do you mind me asking what you were using? Thanks in advance.
@fishingat2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. I've yet to use a split ring on my dongle rigs. You can get them from Veals mail order , sizes 4-6 mm (as an example). If you look at the You tube channel for Mario Asprou , he uses them and explains how he does it - I think about 3 or 4 videos back from his current one . Good luck

Fished Hurleston point down the rocky headland years ago and caught red gurnards. 100 yards past the lookout you can access the sandy beach but it's tricky going down the rope to get on the sand. Rays, bass, cod can be caught there but mind the boulders at the water's edge. Primary a low water mark once it reaches the boulders 😮😮
