I realize Mr. Sedaka has better things to do, but he would make an excellent music teacher: he explains things quite well and seems like such a lovely, patient man. Most geniuses can't (or won't) explain their processes. He's a very engaging interviewee, and I had no idea he'd written and/or performed all of those hits! Nor did I know he'd been exploited by his mother and her sleazy lover - it's especially disgusting since he seems so kind and worked so hard. Thank goodness he was able to keep on keepin' on!

one of the greatest performances ever. I wish they could do it again. Even though a lot of these legends are now gone, their successors carry the torch. And further documentary focus on these wonderful ladies would be awesome. After i saw this, the line from a Gordon Lightfoot song actually allowed me to perfectly imagine it. "Kitty Wells was a real good friend of mine"

It’s a travesty Neil is NOT in the Rock and Roll HOF! 67 years in the business. Neil has wrote some of THE greatest songs on the 50’s-70’s eras. There was a petition online several years ago….its time it was revived and sent to the RnR HOF. What are they waiting for? His death??? Honor him NOW!

I was a student there the very next year, in 1986, and also had the honor of studying under these living legends. For that I am forever grateful.

The pianist who played the string instruments was my teacher. She was a very strict teacher, but after watching this video I understood why she was so strict. I wanted to be able to play orchestra score like her, but I lacked the technique. But I learned a lot from her. I'm glad to be able to meet her again here. Now that Mr. Ozawa has passed away, I think they may be teaming up again in heaven with Bernstein. I'm very happy to be able to watch this video.

If you notice Tammy Wynette gets a standing ovation when she first comes out and when she's done. A true legend and classic lady. Just think Tammy would pass away 5 years after this.

I know this was 30 years ago (saw it live on tv), but most musicians in the show were men. If done now, I think most musicians would be women.

This was a great show. Some of my favorite artists were featured: Suzy Bogguss, Patty Loveless - nobody sings about lost love better than her - , Mary Chapin Carpenter - the Reigning Queen of Country Folk Music and Emmylou Harris - the Elder Stateswoman of Country Music (was disappointed Allison Krause was not there). Don't think I have ever seen such an incredible array of talented performers on the same stage when the Grand Finale was performed.

The reason why I am watching this is because I’m in my sophomore year in high school. I’m pushing hard in band because I’m very late but I’ve always been interested in the orchestra and classic music. I’m interested in my flute (I also play the bone) and I also want to play the violin soon and achieve my dreams. Can you believe it? I was gonna be a vet but, Someone has to keep the orchestra alive as we become more and more online-

I can't remember ever hearing or seeing this before. But what lead me to it was hearing"He thinks he'll keep her" on the radio the other day while I was working on my truck. So I thought who sang that song and I started searching for it on you tube. And it didn't take long for me to find this video which totally blew me away. All these beautiful and incredibly talented women working together to put one fantastic show had me in tears more than once.So I say thank you and I love you to all of The Women of Country!!!
