In 1980s I used to buy 120 colour film and transfer to the metallic 620 spool after locking myself in our wardrobe. The results were good. Doing some research on the A3000/A3 -- I have come upon a huge batch of older cameras and have two A3000s -- they look fine, very clean -- the meter and battery check seem fine *BUT* that -frame prewind happens -*-EVERY-*- time I hit the shutter button. The mirror does not flip up or the shutter open -- they just advance three frames. I tried both with an old roll of film with DX code to see if that made a difference -- nope. Any idea what might be wrong or a simple fix? Thanks!!!

how do i remove the film ? the reel is not complete and cam isnt clicking photos , so i wanna remove it midway and change the reel , since its very old

The last of the series for Agfa and Ansco was the fast f2 lense and range- finder which is a very heavy version but many had issues with the shutter advance gear wearing out and focus grease becoming like glue and seizing the focus ring, .... it is very sad indeed that this German company came all this way and ended up making junk cameras in the end.... losing all those men and woman who built these fine cameras by hand is truly sad 😔 but all over the internet they are forsale and live on .

I always fancied a Rolleiflex SL35E for access to the wonderful lenses it supported, Rollei, Zeiss, Voigtlander, but was always put off by the camera's rumoured unreliability. That said, I owned a 3003 for a couple of years without problem and still regularly use a 6002 that I bought in 1988.

Thanks, good camera, The mount's name is SR then it was changes in the lenses and the coatings , auto rokkor, MC (meter coupled) and MD but the mount was SR för all the models.

The green light is the Auto Focus light, it flashes when your too close or out of focus. The red light is the flash light. I own this camera and the instruction booklet.

Realy dumb question but ive just picked one of these cameras up and how do you see the photos? Does it print them or is it on the film itself?

The east Germans built some fine cameras. And I'm from Bavaria. I love my Praktica VLC. The only thing I'm still baffled by is why anyone would ever want to switch from an M42 mount to a bayonet. So many brilliant lenses.

As an owner of this camera i can say using a screwdriver on the corrosion works very well. It won't do much for the function but it will clean the contacts quite well

I picked up this same camera from a local antique thrift type store for around $6 2 years ago and just tossed it on a shelf as a placeholder. mines silver in colour. I had no idea how cool this camera was so I searched youtube and found your super informative video on it. I cant wait to take some expired film and have fun this summer.

I am the 100th "like" for this video. I have used this product and it is good for numerous rolls. And it doesn't stink that I noticed. Use distilled water if you can because your chemical will last longer and allow more rolls to be done. That. Is. All.

That's depth of field scale. Shows how wide your In Focus zone extends from the camera to help you guesstimate.

If I’m using 200 film and push to 800 that will increase my exposure meter value past 0 to +1 or +2 do I increase my shutter speed to bring my exposure value back to 0 ?

My first Agfa 35mm camera bought 1957 when stationed in Germany-it recorded my two years RAF Hospital Wegberg posting. Many of the photographs I took during that time are being used today 2024, by a German Historian at Paderborn University, part of the post war time history with various defence forces stationed in Westphalia. Great times.

Let me make things simple. When you take a picture with a single lens reflex camera, what the lens sees, is what you see. But there's other types of cameras/viewing systems. One such is the range finder. With a rangefinder, the VIEWfinder is adjeson to the lens. It has the same angle as the lens, but with this type of camera, you are not looking directly through the lens that takes the picture. As you move closer and closer to the subject, the subject becomes more and more off center, even though you placed the subject in the center. Hold up one finger and let someone take a picture of it. Perhaps six feet away. In the center! But as you move closer and closer to the camera/viewfinder, the person taking the picture will put your finger in the center, but the lens will not. you become more off center. You can move in so close that the viewfinder and finger are touching. but then you'll have a blank frame of film...no finger. Different cameras have different specifications as to how close you came before the parallax effect begins to happen. And some better made cameras may have parallax correction line in the viewfinder. one type of rangefinder is the Retina lllc 35mm and very compact. But can this camera take some great pictures.
