So helpful- thank you. Fortunately not a major injury, just scratching with her right leg toenails has irritated the side of her neck.

My dogs hock got broken where the knuckle area joins together. The first thing vet said was to amputate or go see a specialist for 5 to 10 grand for an operation. The bones are in their spots just the joint has a bit of a gap no sharp or poking bones that's all good. His only main concern is arthritis which can be naturally prevented with herbs. I just want to make my own proper splint to support the hock until it heals. She's a bush dog. She needs her legs especially her hinds. Please help

The moment I realized that the dog was stuffed... I was literally cracking up wondering why in the hell it was sticking its nose into the wall and just standing there. Oh my lord.. 😂😂

Thanks a lot for this demo. My dog just underwent this procedure. I do hope that Dakila (my 5 mo old dog), can recover from his fractured hind leg.

My 5 month old dog, Dakila just underwent Thomas splint because his right hind leg was fractured. I was curious about this procedure so I searched on KZfaq about it, luckily I found your demo on it. Now I know what my fur baby went through. Thanks a lot.

It shouldn’t cost hundreds of dollars for a pet injury istg you veterinarians are just ripping people off

not all veterinarians charge the same, so please, there is no reason to throw them all in one group. Our dog injured her eye, and the vet saw us in an emergency within 10 minutes of arrival. The bill was only $36, which included a prescription of antibiotics and a protective cone-in addition to the doctor's and nurse's time.

I have been working in Specialty Vet Med for 20 years, and never seen this. When I was a child in the Caribbean our dog did get one of these on the front leg. That was my fist and last time I saw this. Thanks for the demo. Always good to learn more and different techniques.

How come you only did two layers of bandaging material as opposed to three? I have never seen a piece of tape around the circumference of the limb to hold on to the stir ups. Have you seen this tape create a tourniquet effect?

This is very helpful. Thank you. I tried just wrapping the neck and it kept sliding up. Under the paw was the key there. Now it stays in place. Thank you!
