Dynaudio is pretty decent as it is. Sound deadeing makes it outstanding! Also I do got a spare in it. So rather buy a second hand spare then mickey mouse a compressor to the battery. Also missing cover. Get a decent tire, 30mm lover Eibach pro springs, facelifted grill, front and rear lamps, polestar wheel, decent exhaust also upgraded Volvo R design steering wheel. Do small spacers, and proper wheel alignment. Also you can reduce the understeer with thicker rear anti roll bar + 4 new proper drop link. I also installed front strut brace as the front was flexing a bit during fast cornering. You can also replace the sunroof seal around the glass. Made my car much more quiet at high speed.

I had an XC90 V8 for two years. But most importantly, I got my S80 V8 for 9 years now. This is my forever car. All options, amazing spec, polestar wheels, facelifted grill, lamps, steering wheel, pedals... Ticks so many boxes.

I have an 03 none turbo I bought back in November and I love it. Feel ya on the maintenance part, mine is high mileage, needed a new catalytic converter, need a new heater core but I bypassed it myself since it’s summer and it would have been 1200 for that job but for the most part it’s a lot of car for the money 😍and they’re beautiful solid cars! Love yours

Range 475 miles. 0-60 mph 8.2 seconds. 24mpg. If you roughly put a bike in the back, the pedals can rip the carpet, so be careful. Body structure is the best. It can save your like. Tan leather deteriorates but black leather holds up well. It is thicker. Cruising at 90mph all day is no problem. Monitor water levels weekly. Oil monthly. Change oil 2 or three times a year. Engine is very quiet. If you hear strange noise, check it immediately. With maintenance, it will last over 20 years.

I have a 09 4.4 and the clinking noise in the front suspension at low speeds wasn't the suspension at all but the front brakes, I got a Brake caliper hardware set by Skandix from FCP.... Yeah yeah save it...😅 And it worked, those slider pins rubber inserts were plastic at this point and the two springs were barely holding on.. great car, daily driver and almost at 140k miles and absolutely nothing wrong.

Latest update... Traded 2009 S80 3.2 149,500 miles) today for a 2016 S80 T5E premier turbo 4, one owner, 21,212 miles... Making my list of upgrades now: Solar tint(a must) IPD Sway bar upgrades NO LOWERING SPRINGS THIS TIME... compromises ride Speaker & Sub upgrade Has new tires(when needed, Pirelli P Zero) Shock/strut Bilstein eventually New upgrades on the model I didn't have before: Navigation, rear camera, front/rear sensors, Hot Spot, auto braking, keyless start/ entry, 25-37 mpg (29 average) that's 10 more than I got from the 2009 V6... Looking forward to many more satisfying years with Volvo... PS I was shopping S90s... basically saved almost $20,000 and I already know where all the controls are... welcome home GREAT VIDEO

Awd has zero improvement in the rain. Why do people say this??? Tires are what make a difference 😉. And awd is useless in the snow with 3 season tires (4 season tires are marketing bs). I di want this car as a former T5 S80 owner though.
@ramonbs6075
@ramonbs6075 27 күн бұрын
The tires make the 90% of the safety during rain, the AWD do the other 10%. And that 10% is crucial when you ride fast.

My first modification (10 years ago) was the larger rear sway bar and powerflex bushings. Car corners better, but could use even more bar diameter. I never listen to the stereo. The engine note is all I need

I've had my 07 S80 V8 since 2015. First thing I did was change the exhaust to a cat back system that replaced those pitiful stock exhaust tips. Now it looks and sounds the part. The 4C suspension is a waste of money and we leave it in the "sport" mode all the time. Coming from 30 years of BMWs the handling is marginal at best but it's my wife's car and she's ok with it. Also ditched the air pump for the spare. Didn't want the wife to struggle with a flat, or whomever might stop to help her, with that stock system and installed the temporary spare from another S80 I bought off Ebay. It's a smaller diameter but Volvo says it's ok to get you to a tire repair spot. My favorite accessories are the active cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and folding outside mirrors. Never use the sunroof, fold down rear seats, or ventilated front seats. The car had the windows tinted when we bought it and also the dealer installed Garmin (never use it and stow it in the glovebox). We also have a 2010 Volvo V70 R-Design which sits lower, has sport suspension, and definitely handles better than the S80, primarily used as a dog hauler. These are our 7th and 8th Volvo's and are now considering adding a third (XC60 or XC90) to replace our VW Touareg.

I've owned Volvos for 38years. Started with a 1985 Turbo Diesel 745 (242,000 miles later) next 1995 945 Turbo red block (224,00 miles later) now 2009 S80 3.2. I've upgraded all of them with IPD suspension (Sway bars, Moog lowering springs, Bilstein or Koni shocks, upgraded poly bushings. Lower, YES, a tag stiffer riide: ABSOLUTELY...Punishing NO!! Fun on ramp or canyon carving...No Comparison to stock. Lower ride height is a bit more difficult for my 71yr old knees/back. Something I discovered way to late in life for my S80, was the wonder of Solar windshield tint...Really reduced inside temps and dashboard radiant heat. Next choice will probably be an S90 T6 or T8...that'll have to wait, as I only have 145,000 miles on the S80....Swedish Brick has been my go to website for help over the years.

Nice review 👍😎👍 I have an 08, V8 with pretty much everything. I definitely agree that overall it's quite a nice vehicle, especially since they're under the radar and don't command as high a price as their competition. But the maintenance... Ugh, not easy on the wallet. The active suspension replacement I did was a real eye opener...$1,600 and I did it myself. Mine needs valve cover gaskets done right now and I'm putting it off because of everything it entails. Overall, yes... it's definitely a good car to have. I had an 09 S80 with the 3.2 and this V8 is superior in every way. Also, the DynAudio system is soooo much better than the regular one.
