The one of greatest piece from the Musical history. String, brass, woodwind and percussion made so much affection and power! And the choir in 4th movement is human shining moment.

I got introduced to this symphony through Little Einsteins with Hansel and Gretel and Golden Goose. Childhood was a blast.

There’s so many “modern” ideas in this massive work. Far ahead of his time!

I thought trumpets of this time could only play harmonics. How would this be possible on a classical trumpet?

This piece shows that even composers we think are no-nonsense or serious--which Beethoven has the image of both--can have a pretty good sense of humour! Just listen to that ending filled with fake endings lol

Lets just think for a second about the fact that this symphony starts in a tragic mood with D-Minor and ends being a collosal party with D-Major and the ode to joy theme but a bit transformed. It ends so joyfully that it kind of feels aggressive haha

So many youth orchestra memories with this piece!!! We never went a day without some first violin accidentally playing a chord at 28:13, and 14:07 was the bassoonists' favorite part, they never stopped humming it. I'm in tears!

For the opera lovers, the theme of adagio cantabile it'isnt very close to "in mia man alfin tu sei" from Norma?
