Add Corydoras to clean the bottom, a few springtail insects for the surface water

Use soil when you never plan to touch your aquarium again. No uprooting plants, no rebuilds. Just scape and leave it alone aside from some trimming or adding materials

Any concern or issues with too much organic matter. Like stagnation or excess break down of leaves and branches.

This is not a good setup for mudskippers. They don't have any mud to coat themselves with or even sand to dig in, and they really do need brackish water to thrive. This setup is similar to keeping a goldfish in a tiny fishbowl - the fish might survive, but it's inhumane and cruel. Please do not mislead people into keeping animals in a neglectful setting.

Congratulations, beautiful aquarium! What is the PH? Do you add buffering?

Thank you so much! I don’t have test kit but I believe PH around 6.5, 6.6~ . I don’t add something. 🙂

that is the reason most don't use dirted tanks.. we can rescape or mess with the substrate or pull out rooted plants.. also I had big problems with assassin snails they harm smaller nerites and also ram horn snails which eat algae

Why disenfecting plants, when all what you want is building an ecosystem? Wouldn't those health forms actually be healthy for the paludarium?
@peaceofnaturee2 күн бұрын
Yes it’s healthy but I wanted limit it, for example I didn’t want ant colony in it.

How do the branches last, that you get from outside?
@peaceofnaturee2 күн бұрын
This will be a bit difficult to answer because I usually break these thin branches while cleaning the glass. Thicker ones might last for many years. These branches do not dissolve quickly in water.

My only complaint is that this isn't a giant tank. I'd love to see this scaled up to a much larger tank so you can incorporate a full school of dozens of fish or more. Maybe even include a land feature so you could have semi-aquatic invertebrates. The possibilities are endless. Great job!

Nice informative relaxed video. Kids play sand is a good cheap source of river sand, 15KG for £3. Its not always river sand so read the info on the back. I wash it a few times to get rid of mud and powdery bits of sand. Its labour intensive washng your bodyweight in sand, but its worth it over paying £16 for 7.5KG of sand from aquarium shop.

@@peaceofnaturee my tanks are Father Fish tanks. So-called “low-tech planted aquariums”. I like them that way. But I just cannot wrap my head around not having a bubbler yet haha. I do see the plants pearling tiny bubble streams but I’m not sure if that’ll be sufficient haha.

Hi, this video is my inspiration to return to the aquarium. I often encounter the phenomenon that after a period of planting, the tree will turn yellow and die. I turned on the lights and fertilized. I do not understand. Why is that, can you suggest me, thank you.

What kind of plants did you use? And what kind of water?
@AnhPham-lw3im3 күн бұрын
Hi@@peaceofnaturee , I use Microsorum pteropus "narrow" and HYGROPHILA PINNATIFIDA plants. I always turn on the lights 8 hours a day, change the water, and use fertilizer. At first the plants grew well but then they turned yellow and died. .
