What kind of chords are these weird chords at :21 and :29? 7th and 9th? Or something like that?

Or is the guitar in an unusual tuning? Or is it just a flanger effect making it sound weird to me?

Just to add another concern: you can start introducing different forms of distortion going too hot even with a limiter. I know you brought this up but you don't want your audio constantly hitting a hard limiter like this. Otherwise you'll introduce a lot of digital noise artifacts.
@ChrisHollandGuitar
@ChrisHollandGuitar 15 күн бұрын
@@themeangene Yup, the limiter should only catch the loudest peaks, and definitely shouldn’t be doing constant gain reduction.

Both are excellent, but I chose and bought the EVH 5150 because that gate is a great addition. Also because I'm just an Eddie Van Halen fanboy. Whack his name and those stripes on anything and I'm buying it. 😊

it's funny, i see people saying the flow won it - i almost exclusively use the tortex flow so i feel inclined to say it's my favorite, but compared to the others it just sounds a little too slippery. and the bluechip sounds airy to me in a way that's just so pure. wish i could justify buying one to try it lol

I just realized the ending lick sounds so much like Nevermore's The River Dragon Has Come that I couldn't tell if it was a reference, a tribute, or just coincidence. Such a cool lick anyway.

@@ChrisHollandGuitar I can hear you in the first part, but around 2:00 when the music comes in full, is when it starts to get much louder than your voice. I t sounds like you're using a compressor to "Duck" the music, but it's kind of a slow attack and release for Ducking the volume of the music, so it overlaps your voice. Especially that Subwoofer Bass.

The problem is with OBS. I use Reaper and I can have my MIC preamps turned all the way down, and they send a nice hot and NOISELESS signal to reaper. When I use the SAME USB interface with OBS, I can't hear the MICS until I crank up the Mic Preamps to Halfway which also adds a ton of Noise.

I only use a silent acoustic recording with the emulated mic tone. Because in the North the furnace runs 10 months out of the year. But I wanted that tech in a full acoustic. I was hoping you would demo that tone. Thank you for letting me know its there! Now I know what to look for.

Nice. I like both sounds, depending on the piece of music. I really love my Quilter, I even use it live. But in a live setting, mic'ed cab vs. line out makes little difference to me. Even my Mic'ed cab goes... XLR in on the mixer through it's pre amp and EQ section, to the FOH speaker's EQ, amp and speaker voicing. All of which renders it's sound completely different from that of my amp on stage. Only the people up front really hear my true amp / cab tone...that is, until I'm asked to turn it down lol.
