Regular oil changes (6-10k) and having the ZF-8 speed gear box serviced will help it get past 100k miles. Bought mine at 80k, 2 years ago (LCI 40d 2012) since my W204 estate couldn't comfortably take a rear facing baby seat behind the passenger and I have to say it's a very competent cruiser, with handling that belies its weight and mass. Typically with most modern german cars, it's the sensors and electronics that let you down. My remote central locking fob doesn't respond and which may be down the diversity antanne or a corroded connection under the tailgate. Being a big car, it does take its toll on chassis components. I've had a seized NSF caliper, resulting in warped discs, but that seems to be just be age-related. If you go into it realistically knowing that polymer and elastomeric parts will perish after 10 years and have the budget to refresh, the same will also be true of your run of the mill cars as well. It's just that depreciation has made these cars such good value, that you'll be looking at getting an older car that would have cost £45k OTR when it first came out, for the price of a 10 year old mondeo or passat. That being said, you can retrofit an android auto module for £200 behind the factory head unit to give you wireless android auto / apple car play, which brings it up to date. And I also do agree with the sentiments of the N series engines. I had to do the camchain, guides, tensioner on my wife's N47 on the mini countryman. The N57 is less susceptible according to my BMW specialist mechanic due to there being more sufficient oil pressure and flow rate on the 6 pot lumps, but it's still a £2k job to do.

I had one for about 4 months and moved it on,absolutely nothing wrong with the car but I wanted to like it more than I did just never really got on with it. The chassis feels its age and is quite unrefined on our roads(not the cars fault). I think I would go for the petrol next as the diesel was a bit tail happy in the wet maybe because of the weight distribution. Great economy though if you don’t drive it on the door handles.

I have recently bought a high mileage XS SD4 auto in an auction. Noisy steering and wheel bearing, but it drives better than the 2009 model i have given my daughter. It does not look or feel worn out yet at nearly 200k.

I got mine in April last year. Not had a problem with it. I was only planning to keep it to around 70k miles but might keep it longer. Unfortunately I hit a pothole and I thought it cracked the alloy as it was such a hard hit. Luckily it only damaged the tyre. 50mph on the crest of a hill in the dark. £200 later and all was well.

I sold mine in January due to my traders policy excluding Range Rovers. I was gutted and thought I’d regret selling it. Fast forward 5 months and I wouldn’t have a JLR car given now. Unreliable manufacturer doesn’t give a toss about theft as it actually helps them sell cars to customers who had theirs stolen. You’d be surprised at the % or sales which replace a stolen vehicle. I think anybody that buys one now is mad. And yes I loved mine.

Best mileage ive managed 62.7 A12 M25 Orpington Shirley to Croydon so claimed 62.8 plus is not a false claim by jaguar but it was very Conservative driving. So other claims on mpg are pretty much what I'm getting so no problems there. I've had mine 6 plus years and have no intention of getting rid of it still love driving it. The only thing i personally would have liked to see was a temperature gauge and a dip stick, you can tell a lot from these two, my only gripe otherwise an excellent car, I do the servicing myself really easy to work on so no complaints there either. The only problems I've experienced was a front passenger door lock and tailgate, but once sorted no problems. The longest drive in one day was an 827 mile trip to Middlesbrough and back. Excellent cruising car with little to no fatigue.

Owned the 380bhp model just over 4 years. To date very reliable. When the warranty expired I added 200 cell CATs, upper and lower pulleys, air intake, remap pushing out 465bhp 565Nm. Eibach hub centric spacers and the very important Michelin 4s. Great car which will be very hard to replace. If you can find the one I highly recommend.

Yep i own a 2018 sonic blue with the latest wheels on it, biught with low mileage 16k last year...i held off and held off to save and find the spec and colour i wanted. Then my current car broke so had to bite the bullet and get one. The sonic blue has grown on me and i have cream interior (which isnt something id choose) but love the car. Hopefully doesn't give me any problems as mine was 77k new.

My Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic, stunning car, serviced on point, Pirelli tyres everytime etc 114'000 miles on the clock however 4 weeks ago, split DPF sensor pipe which then led to turbo problems.
