It's doubly sad that there has to be a non Mexican, a Jew or white guy etc to come by and disseminate information/history like this one. I know it's better than not doing it at all but that seems to be the destiny of Mexicans and latinamericans here, there and everywhere

I bought the Last Express from a computer shop in the UK for a few pounds in 1998. I used to love going through the discounted section for oddities and quit frankly some awful games. This was one of my best purchases. back in 1998 as a teenager I wasn't very good at looking after my stuff and unfortunately the second disc got scratched and I couldn't finish it. I got to Vienna and then game over, I have just completed it on steam all these years later. It's a shame it didn't do better, but I was one of the people who bought it originally and played the first part over and over just hoping one day it might work for me. It was a game of its time and I'm not sure many games have been made that come close to its's brilliance.

On a deep dive for old Los Angeles history I decided to look up what happened to the neighborhoods that i know was replaced by the Dodger's stadium because i didn't know any details of how that actually happened and found this mini-doc but also noticed who it was made by... "Not THE Jordan Mechner?!" I thought... and then lo and behold, yet it was... I didn't expect that, but thanks for the work on this as well as your more interactive works that I've enjoyed in the past

I'll be honest, Karateka was made the year I was born so I've never actually played it. That being said, I really enjoyed your GDC talks on Karateka and especially Prince of Persia, along with another fantastic rotoscoped game, Another world. I don't know if the idea was serendipitous or just genius, either way these games have a timeless aesthetic and atmosphere.

These idiots throw their nonsense around as if they know what they're talking about, when all they're doing is proving how prejudiced they are. These jerks don't know the difference between Democracy, Socialism, Communism, Capitalism or anything else. They're so smug in their lack of discernment and education. It's sickening. This problem seems to be part of their thinking and has been around for decades. It's simply people who refuse to educate themselves with better answers. Shame on them!!!!

Jordan, I wanted to compliment you on the quality of the Russian language in 'The Last Express'. Russian is my mother tongue and Hollywood actors who maimed its words Arnold Schwarzenegger-Red Heat-style were what we usually got from the West back in the 1990-s. You were one of the first producers who made sure that your actors speak pure, 100% authentic Russian. In fact, when I first heard Dolnikov say "Or have you lost count?" in perfect Russian, I couldn't believe my ears.

Nothing's changed with property rights and fair housing for the medium and low income single family income taxpayer. It's worse all over. With a current absence of leadership and trillions in unaccounted debt.

The Last Express still has some of the best voice acting in a game, but as good as all the actors are, I think Kronos is just a head above the rest. Such a memorable and mysterious character, in no small part thanks to the VO.

It’s wonderful on a certain level to learn the true story about the Chavez Ravine neighborhoods and at the same time devastatingly sad to listen to their individual stories. I grew up on the other side of that hill, just south of this area in what is the Chinatown neighborhood of Los Angeles in the early sixties. The view of downtown L.A. with the tallest building being City Hall brought back a lot of memories…as this was the view we had from our front porches on the south side of these hills. Thank you for all the great photographs.

This is the purist form of applied racism by our government. Just terrible. Those families were ripped off plan and simple. This happened all over this country. I grew up the same way in the projects. Those other baseball teams would whoop some butts. They even changed our ages on baseball registration to take cthe championship away from us. Terrible shit happened to us. The least they could of done was give them a section of seating along 3rd base line for the life of that stadium.
