I find that with a fixture table my squares (yes, they are Fireball) aren’t very useful. These are good if you have a table with no CNC holes in it. For most people, these are too big. Really, you need four, one for each corner. Something sized like the small Fireball squares, or small ones here, are easier to use.

I wish I could keep the helmet on my head. I have long hair. I have three helmets, and none stay on. Add to that patching rusty sheet metal, a car door in the way, the tiniest opening, and a magnet that has nothing to stick to.... Crap like this is making me either hate welding or fml.... I still have to figure out what to do with this job, because I cant close the door now, and the car is outside. Fun....

PS, good on you. Im one of those misognists, but I would have no issue working alongside you, if the world is so bad off that I end up a welder lol.

How accurate are these after the final welding process, I understand the cnc will cut the triangles pretty close, but after welding the flat bar on the edges do they need to be final machined or checked at all?
@makingithappen10872 жыл бұрын
Depends on how well they're put together. One I machined after the fact and that one is pretty much spot on.

Hi I just purchased your files on ETSY. Maybe I missed it somewhere but how do I know how long to cut each piece of 2" x 1/4" flat plate pieces? I didn't see those measurements in the files.

The school where I teach is building a new welding lab. I would like to make sure the space is inviting and welcoming to the female high school students. Do you have any recommendations for ways I can make the welding lab and program more inviting?
@makingithappen10872 жыл бұрын
I would say tons of ventilation and windows are nice. 😁 It's all in the mindset. If someone doesn't want to weld, no amount of temptation will convince them. The allure of projects that appeal to girls perhaps? Maybe poll the students for ideas on what they wish they had and use that to tempt them.
@bertlord2 жыл бұрын
@@makingithappen1087 ventilation we got. Windows - center room - so no outside windows but maybe some skylights will be an option. I like the ideas about polling for projects.

Just wanted to let you know if you didn't already that your anvil is a Trenton. When you put it on the mill, the diamond on the side was visible. If you look on the front of the foot below the horn, you should see a number to the left and one on the right. One is the weight and the other is the serial number. You can look up the serial number and find out exactly when it was made. My dad gave me my great grandpas farriers anvil made by Trenton. Dates to 1928 and is stamped at 162 pounds. Gifted it to my brother as he was looking for an anvil and I already had 4 others 😅 glad to keep it in the family

Many months ago I saw your video and I would like to ask you a question, I hope you can help me, my machine has just arrived, maybe a couple of days ago but I have a problem and where I bought it has not offered me an appropriate technical service My patience is gone and I'm a millimeter away from panicking LOL.... For some unknown reason, my machine turns off when I am engraving or cutting, when I look at the plug of the machine the fuse burns, I would like to know if the same thing happened to you? We basically have the same machine, I just want to compare what voltage you have it in, or for example if you have it connected directly to your wall or use a regulator, things like that... thank you so much in advance....
@makingithappen10872 жыл бұрын
Ours takes 240 volts 30 amp we don't use a regulator. Ours was designed for 240 volt, we had to request the vendor to provide this. I removed the ends that it came with and rewired to fit our outlets. If you don't feel confident doing this, I would recommend hiring an electrician: we don't want anyone getting hurt.
@richieg19652 жыл бұрын
Good job. Far too much weld though. 1” runs on 3” centres would be adequate. Also, is there a product called ‘bright’ flat bar available in your area? It has a a way better finish than black flat bar. I intend to make a couple of squares using stainless steel. I’ll offset the plate so that it’s flush on one side.
@makingithappen10872 жыл бұрын
Smart! We'll have to look into the bright flat bar.
