Buy the FILES we used to cut out our squares and bring them to your local laser or plasma cutter - www.etsy.com/listing/11820880...
You will need: the file, a plasma or laser cutter, and flat plat - 1/8 to 1/4" thick. I used 2" by 1/4" bar stock for the outside perimeter.
Let's make welding squares! We cut these plates out of steel on the plasma table and are welding them up into squares. Use these to make things perpendicular easily with no hassle!

The welding table was a 50 dollar barn find! It used to have some type of robot on it. It has a cabinet underneath it that used to have electricity components in it. There is also a 4 inch diameter hole in the top that would make a cool rotary table mount. Thanks for the comment!

What is the wee blocks you use and where can you get them. Are you selling the squares?

I find that with a fixture table my squares (yes, they are Fireball) aren’t very useful. These are good if you have a table with no CNC holes in it. For most people, these are too big. Really, you need four, one for each corner. Something sized like the small Fireball squares, or small ones here, are easier to use.

Hi Mike! No, we designed and cut our own without any sort of template. Someday we do want to buy one of his amazing cast iron squares though!

How accurate are these after the final welding process, I understand the cnc will cut the triangles pretty close, but after welding the flat bar on the edges do they need to be final machined or checked at all?

Depends on how well they're put together. One I machined after the fact and that one is pretty much spot on.

Hi I just purchased your files on ETSY. Maybe I missed it somewhere but how do I know how long to cut each piece of 2" x 1/4" flat plate pieces? I didn't see those measurements in the files.

Good job. Far too much weld though. 1” runs on 3” centres would be adequate. Also, is there a product called ‘bright’ flat bar available in your area? It has a a way better finish than black flat bar. I intend to make a couple of squares using stainless steel. I’ll offset the plate so that it’s flush on one side.
