Interesting fact about the signal dropping off after 30 hertz. As volcano erupt, it turns out that different hertz/resonances have different effects on buildings of different heights…..Low hertz affect buildings two to three stories; whereas higher frequencies affect the taller buildings. This seems to be in the same vein, to me.

LifePro is a high intensity vibration platform and is not recommended for people with osteoporosis. It can cause injury.
@judys1340Күн бұрын
@margaretmartinpt I appreciate the advice. I've been using it for well over a year. I'm I pretty good shape. Life Pro has different settings. I'm also going to ask my doctor for a REMS (Radio frequency echographic Spectrometry) - which shows you bone density and bone quality, which some experts say is important to know.

The settings do not reduce the risk associated with the LifePro device. It is still a high intensity platform and the displacement could cause harm for people with osteoporosis.

Is marydyne safe for someone recovered from a femur fracture that required « hardware » (pin and plate) for repair that is now permanently fixed.?
@margaretmartinptКүн бұрын
Hi Joyce. I asked the Marodyne team a similar question. Their response is in this post (sorry, the post is very long; look for the section about joint replacement): melioguide.com/osteoporosis-treatment/can-you-use-vibration-plate/ Here are some points to consider. First, you should consult with your orthopedic surgeon regarding the use of the LiV or any other modality. When i asked the Marodyne team a similar question, thy pointed to a study where the members of the study group had implants in the hip. The study lasted eighteen months, and there were no adverse events reported. A research team at the Chinese University of Hong Kong recruited a group of patients with unilateral trochanteric fractures to see if they could use a low intensity vibration plate for bone healing. The candidates were aged 65 years or older, and all were fixed with a dynamic hip screw or Gamma nail. Over a six month period, the vibration group followed a protocol of twenty minutes a day and seven days a week of low intensity vibration, in addition to the standard post-fracture rehabilitation. The control group received standard rehabilitation programs only. The post-treatment assessments showed that the vibration group had significant improvement in quality of life and early enhancement in range of motion of the hip joint at the second month when compared with the control group. By the sixth month, the vibration group showed a trend with a higher hip bone mineral density (BMD) increase in the wards triangle region and less bone loss in the femur neck as compared with the control group. The functional assessment also indicated no adverse events with the vibration group, meaning that the daily use of the vibration therapy did not affect the orthopedic hardware in any way. Because the vibration is dissipated as it traverses your body, the signal is low when it reaches the joint with the implant, whether that is the knee, hip, or other area. As a result, Marodyne suggests that the LiV is safe to use if you have had joint replacement surgery. In 1994 Dr. Clinton Rubin and Dr. Kenneth McLeod examined the effect of vibration on bony ingrowth into implants. This is referred to as osseointegration. The study showed that transcortical sintered bead implants (in a turkey ulna) that remained in disuse experienced fibrous tissue growth from the bone surface into the implant. This is an early harbinger of failure. However, if the ulnae were briefly loaded with low frequency (walking, 1 Hz) signals, there was some initiation of bone formation. In other words, low intensity vibration signals stimulated marked ingrowth into the implants. While low intensity vibration may not cause your implant to be better integrated with your bones, it should not cause any harm.

Curious to know if the strategies used by Debi and others also works for women who are 5+ years post menopausal and have severe osteoporosis with T-score of -3.7? Or if the shared strategies mostly work when your body has age and hormones in its favor.

Hi Nicole. As I point out in the video, every client I deal with is different so their response will likely vary. There are many variables that affect bone health and how much one can move the dial in the right way. Debi got everything should could on her side and has been consistent and the combination worked for her.

I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis in 2009. I could not do anything about it until I was better financially. In October 2020 I started taking Algaeplus and Strontium but I found that it is very slow in acting and I couldn't afford it so I stopped it October 2023.Instead I take calcium, zinc, potassium, Omega 3, K2, D3, magnesium, boron, selenium. and B12. Last year I had a bone scan and it did improve a bit but I was not given the numbers. I heard about a medication the doctors would recommend and you only pay $5 a month., I sked my doctor about it and she said there were too many side effects. So now when I get a bone scan, she is very vague in giving me the results because she wouldn't approve that medication - she said I do not have it that bad. A girl who had osteoporosis also told me about it. That is why I do not trust doctors nowadays. I look things up on the internet and I heal myself that way.

Thank you for this hopeful video. I showed a subtle compression fracture in my spine xray last fall and have been unsure what I can/can't do since. Is this safe for a compression fracture? am in the Ottawa area and wondered if you could recommend a good osteo physio here, Margaret? (Wishing you were still here :) Perhaps some physios might have this machine?
@margaretmartinpt2 күн бұрын
Individuals with, or at risk of, compression fractures need to take extra precautions when they move or exercise. I encourage you to consult with your physician or surgeon before you start or resume an exercise program. It is important that the fracture be healed. Is a low intensity vibration plate safe to use when you have a compression fracture? Again, you should consult with your physician and get their clearance. However, the vibration signal from the LiV plate is a fraction of the gravitational force created by walking. Why? Because the vibration signal at the plate becomes weaker as it travels up the spine. The LiV has been shown to accelerate and augment bone repair and remodeling. As a result, the LiV might benefit those with compression fractures. One of the biggest challenges I hear from individuals with compression fractures when using the device is the amount of contiguous time spent standing. Marodyne recommends a dosage of 10 minutes per treatment session. However, you should begin with what you can tolerate and build up your treatment time. To make it easier, I recommend that you take the weight of your arms off your back. You can do this by using lengthened walking or Activator Poles. Alternatively, you can place a tall chair on each side of the Marodyne with the backs turned towards the platform. Resting your hands will help you maintain your posture, as well as provide support and stability throughout your session.

I found it very interesting to hear this interview. Especially, as the person is extremely close to my age. It would be nice to know her exact numbers of Her DEXA scan. As of April 23, my t score for the lumbar spine is -4.2 and the T score in the left hip is -2.7, right femoral neck -3.4 right total hip -2.8. I have been encouraged to take Fosamax here in British Columbia, I have resisted taking any of the drugs as I’ve had G.I. problems for at least 15 years and respond negatively to most pharmaceuticals and even some herbal. I have done a lot of reading and followed Margaret Martin for years and especially using her exercise protocol. My Physio guides me along her program , I take vitamin D, K, two calcium capsules, collagen,. With numbers as low as this, I find myself living in a lot of fear of falling. Trying to incorporate more balance exercises into my routine. I have to go slow and gentle, as my body is hypersensitive and can react just to exercise alone, I did purchase the unit and for me, I could not continue to do it. I have tinnitus and I noticed that just in the first couple of sessions that tinnitus was spiked it was very unpleasant. Also, I got incredibly sore and it took at least 2 to 3 days to recover. Margaret was instrumental in connecting me with Dr. Rubin, who answered me personally. He let me know that it is like a bit of a workout and so that I would have to cut back my time on the unit and go extremely gradually and build up. With the cost of the machine and especially the 10 to spike, I was reluctant and the company very graciously refunded me. I would like to hear of other people who have been successful in changing their numbers with their diet protocol, training, etc. Thank you again for presenting these interviews Margaret. I have recommended many people to your books and your KZfaq. An end note is that I was recently on a 30 minute bus ride sitting at the back. Another 30 minutes back. I have been extremely sore now, and it is nine days later. All the erector spine, muscles and low back. There was a lot of vibration, even though it was on a concrete road, and some bumps

Don’t give up hope. I have not used a Marodyne or any other type of vibration equipment and was able to improve my bone density scores without any bone meds by following many of the other valuable tips from Margaret. After 1.5 years all but one area of my left hip are no longer in the osteoporosis range. The main changes I made were exercise, strength training, walking, eating prunes daily, and taking vitamins D3 & K2. I try to get most of my calcium naturally from foods but will take a supplement before bed if I think my day’s diet didn’t contain enough calcium. When I walk my dogs we go briskly and I walk a bit heavier footed than I normally would. My endocrinologist is thrilled with my progress and says I have exceeded the results of many of her patients on bisphosphonates.

I would have guessed Debi in her 50’s. I’ll also be 71 in September - with CFS/fibromyalgia hard to do aggressive strength training and have a hole in my ear (superior canal dehiscense) so doubt the vibration would be advisable otherwise I’d get it. ( had a craniotomy in one ear 14 years ago and trying to avoid another…) Am on HRT and think it’s helping. So many docs don’t want to keep women on it but from what I’ve read it’s safe, at least safer than breaking another bone. Broke femur Sept 2020 and bone density post surgery in hip showed -1.9, not horribly bad but did have a gruesome break I’ve not fully recovered from. Peter Attia has talked about this, gives percentages of what happens if fall after age 65.

Thank you for your question. I have looked at a number of devices. The amount of engineering and calibration required to get the right, safe and effective vibration signal through your body is quite complex. Marodyne is a German designed and built product that is the only device I have found that meets these requirement. I know that it is expensive and that many people cannot afford it, but it would be irresponsible to recommend vibration products that are cheaper but unsafe.
