Loved my long wheel based trooper. Unfortunately lost it to frame rust the boxed in frames trap a ton of sediment . The short wheelbase is so sweet. Mitsubishi/ Dodge did same with the Raider. Long and short wheelbase

Never have i ever seen someone weld on a shock. Ive thought about it, but i was in a junkyard and watched a guy cutting an axle off of of a ford truck. Was about to have it cut off the truck, as the oil came out under pressure,it atomized while lighting on fire from the molten metal, 8 ft napalm flamethrower, tried to put it out and it re- lit like one of those horrible candles that wont go out. Coated the truck next to him with flaming oil, and almost set the entire junkyard on fire. So yeah, i wasnt really ever motivated to weld on shocks......

One of my favorite road trips was with my dad from Eugene, to Redding and back in a turbo Cooper s. I live in southwest Missouri, so getting back out there would be a huge feat. Would just have to bring my dogs with me, and make a whole month out of it.
@mikewharton782116 сағат бұрын
Keep up the great videos. question on the 4 link bar lengths? You made the upper and lower bars almost the same length. With a street vehicle and very little movement that is ok? On the off road stuff I thing they are supposed to be 80% top to bottom. Thanks

It’s a bummer that Dirt Everyday was cancelled, I just discovered it last month and have watched every episode. Best of luck to you Dave, I’m looking forward to watching your videos. Most KZfaq channels are better when creators control them.

I have a childhood memory of this truck and it's my dad's he had the yellow one and apparently he had too much of a lead foot so they literally like to throw timing chains apparently so you might want to make sure that's in good shape

Gene Winfield chopped the top of 1 of these and painted it Gold. It's called the Machete. It was an ISCA rear-engine truck that someone had built. The bed has a 600hp, twin-turbo Olds V8 w/ Tornado axle..

Don't know where that truck lived it's life, but the fact that it still had original exhaust and rockers on it is incredible. My 85' D50 during the 15 years I had it went through 2 sets of rockers and two full exhausts... that's Pennsylvania weather and salty winter roads for you.
@thedirtheadshed22 сағат бұрын
That Pennsylvania salt hits different. This truck spent its life in Montana

hey Dave...I've had a few older Mopars...it's interesting that Mitsubishi chose to run the front stabilizer-lower control arm rods that were prominent in Dodges D-100 chassis'....perhaps there was some corporate influences eh speaking of ... how do they look?...the dry rot makes for shite handling...the exhaust looks good man...sounds good
