I saw you go to manage and filter presets to go to the male eq I don't have that on my audacity so I'm not sure how to set everything to how you have it. Any hep is appreciated.

Hi Josh, could you explain to me why Audacity has put it's icon onto my saved videos. I use AVConverter to save my videos. Is there something in options list that has accidently caused it? how do I reverse this ? When I go to play a video it goes straight into audacity, instead of play video. some hints would be much appreciated.

Can we discuss 1/3 octaves. How boosting 1k for, example, also boosts 500hz, 250hz, 125hz ... As well as it boosting 2k, 4k, and 8k, etc. Albeit at lower decibles, the further from the center frequency is... Then we can understand how boosting or cutting frequencies outside of the human voice range ALSO does affect the center EQ! With all due respect, I was a recording engineer before you were born. And you have a very superior arrogance that your experience and knowledge level do not match. No offense intended, but as someone who has worked as an engineer for JBL, Electrovoice, etc .... Maybe study octaves and how they affect the center frequency. FWIW, I was on the Audio Control design team that developed the first AC third octave equalizer for the 12v industry. My credentials are fairly sound as well 😉.

Hello Josh, two points I'd like to address. You speak about the "file" you've created here and keep saying "the wav" are we to assume that you've recorded a "wav file" as opposed to an mp3? Just looking for clarification? And second, I was always taught that when you're recording your voice for a voice-over, narration, e-book etc... that you are to use or set your recording in 44100 instead of 48000? And so I guess my question here is? Should we record in 44100 or 48000 and why? Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom b/c it doesn't only help out the little guy, but seasoned old-timers like myself. Cheers.

You do not need to have your mic or audio interface plugged in, prior to starting Audacity. Select TRANSPORT and Rescan Audio Devices if you fired it up without plugging in or you unplug after it's running.

Bro can u do one about recording rap vocals

I must be doing something wrong, because when I apply a graphic EQ as shown, it completely distorts my audio track. When you apply it in the video, there's no noticable effect on the track at all, but when I do it, it literally changes everything (even if I only change 20 or 25 and/or 20k). Does it matter if you apply this EQ before or after other effects, such as compression?
