Nice. Ive heard that if you put a small wave maker back by the co2 outlet it helps as well and the plants really like the slow movement in the water? Whats your thoughts on that. TIA. Thanks for sharing
@TankedUpLife-te5uy4 күн бұрын
@@markfranklin8831 Yes in my previous 28 gallon I had a wave maker placed above the CO2 diffuser. It would further scatter the CO2 across the tank to help it dissolve into the water. Plants like the additional water flow as well. But I used a very weak wave maker. Too much current causes too much havoc with the fish and isn't really needed. This is the one I purchased. a.co/d/8D2MtqL It has a nice gentle flow and magnet mount so it will never fall down like ones that use suction cups.

Where did you put the hosing for the airstone on the left side of the tank. Because of the glass lid, I am guessing no space on the left for the hose.
@TankedUpLife-te5uy14 күн бұрын
@@TrishR-sd2px it actually fit in the gap between the lid and wall of tank. There is just enough space for a standard airline. There are clips on the lid. The clips just rest on the outer walls with about 1/8" of play. So there is a small gap all along the back edge. Perfect for an airline.

Tank is looking fantastic. I am looking at basically the same set up. Any worries on using such an inexpensive tank? Some of the reviews scare me. I thought I preferred the black silicone on the tanks but now I am not sure. Your tank looks really clean. Any worries about the edge of the top of the stand getting ruined by water? Agree they should take care of the fish better in the stores.
@TankedUpLife-te5uyАй бұрын
I have now purchased two of these Aqueon tanks. A 30 and a 20 high. I filled both with water overnight to ensure no leaks. Both have been perfect. They seem very well made. Honestly I have owned many tanks through the years and have never had a leak. I wouldn't worry. Just inspect the tanks silicone before you buy it. Make sure it looks like it's been applied evenly and neatly. Fill with water (while empty) and leave filled. If you wake up and no leaks, you should be fine. Keep me posted!👍 Thanks for the kind words❤️.

I'm a little anal with water on the stand. I try and immediately wipe it up. This is an extremely well made stand. I think unless you leave water sitting there for days I think the finish will be ok. @TankedUpLife-te5uyАй бұрын
Ottos are super easy! They are algae eaters. I have them in all my tanks. At most I'll throw a sinking algae water but I have never had to feed my Ottos. As long as you have live plants they will keep the algae off the leaves. They are a must have fish in a planted tank. Nothing to worry about. Buy 2 for your small Fluval tank. They will be fine.

@TankedUpLife-te5uyАй бұрын
They eat a lot of algae so you only need 2 in your fluval Spec and fluval V. I have 3 in my 20 gallon and 3 in my 30 gallon. People don't realize how much algae they consume and buy too many for their tanks. 2 is more than enough for both tanks. You can see their bellies get round and you will know they are finding enough food. Good luck!

I have been considering the stand you purchased. Looks decent but like most stands these days I think it's particle board. How are the seams and finish? How was the assembly?
@TankedUpLife-te5uyАй бұрын
This stand is very very well made. I can't remember the name of the company who actually makes it (I think Sauder) but they are known for making furniture for every room in the house. All the holes were perfectly lined up. The finish is exceptional. Not a cheap flimsy stand at all. You could easily stand 3 adults on it. I'm very impressed with it. I would catch it on sale though. I think I paid around $150 but the regular price is around $200. It's rock solid. Only downside is there is no level adjustment for the feet but my floor is perfectly level. Went together easy. Instructions were very clear.
