Thanks for the video Shaymus, I imagine you've tried just tracing the image without the grid? If so what do you prefer about the grid method over the full trace. Also, have you tried projectors, Da Vinci eye app etc?
@shaymusart6 күн бұрын
@@jimlad01 my pleasure 😊 yes a plain trace without the grid is probably the easiest and quickest method. I’ve tried a projector too but it didn’t go well for me. I’m sure theres quite a few methods I’m yet to try too 😊

Great work! Truly awesome, I just have a query ,what if I use just soft pastels and not the pencil colours ,will the output still be the same?

Thank you! The pencils are really helpful for those fine details, it depends what style you’re going for. If you’re wanting to create realistic drawings, you probably need pencil refinements too 😊

Shaymus - I have huge studio envy! Brilliant video - well planned, researched and executed. I want to put all the suggestions into practice myself now. Great ideas. I love a studio tour and this is the best one I've ever seen. Here's the "but". Someone else has also mentioned this and it was a big red flag. I was IT Health & Safety trainer for staff using computers and sitting at their desks. All the set up you have created is second to none. The one, outstanding danger is your use of the armrest on your chair. You might not suffer much pain at the moment, but that's because you are young and fit. I am against resting any part of the arm, wrist rests are a no-no and resting your elbow is just putting off the worst. The active arm should always be free from the shoulder to the fingers. There are many tendons in the hand, wrist and arm - they need complete freedom of movement. I would say that a Mahl stick is a good tool. I have a lot of experience - probably more than 8 years - and research shows that once you have wrist or elbow pain, it is too late to cure. Please think about it and I hope this has also helped your lovely followers. I mean only the best.
