Hi Chris, I have a question so at 5:37 you said that it tells information from your watch. Does it connect to your watch also? And which model of watch are you using? Thank you. Very nice review and congrats on your PB🎉

No they didn’t. In reality, this is a new model and what was its predecessor in name is now simply the Hyperion 2. It’s at least as good as the Hyperion Max OG.

I'm hoping to try he Hyperion 2 soon. I've heard it's more comparable to the Hyperion Max OG, which I didn't run in. But I do have the Hyperion OG and for me it didn't have enough cushioning. Should be interesting to compare the Hyperion 2 with the Hyperion 2 Max.

I was in need of speed training shoes, so I went to the store. I really wanted to prefer the Saucony Endorphin Speed 4, but they were too narrow. Then I wanted to love the ASICS Magic Speed 4, but for my type of footstrike (midfoot-heel), they felt just like the Magic Speed 2. Then I tried these Hyperion Max 2 and to my surprise they felt exactly like what I was hoping for, although I had never bought Brooks shoes before and don't like the look. Since buying them I ran a tempo 18:36 5k in them, and intervals, and about 22 km at easy pace (4:30-5:00/km). My verdict: not my go-to for easy runs but they feel good enough; for speedwork, they deliver, I love the fit, and they bounce without being too soft. I'm even going to use them in an upcoming half-marathon where I'm not aiming for a PB (saving my supershoes for A-races).

Update: I ran that HM. It was a quite hilly course (190 m D+), no rain, comfortable weather. I finished in 1:27:02, 26th/755 men, 5th/120 AG, with gas left in the tank to run 10 more k's. The shoes felt great, they fit my wide-ish feet perfectly, and I was comfortable running uphill and downhill in them.

Excellent review. Mine arrived yesterday. Initial thoughts are that it fits my wide-ish feet perfectly and I love the laces. I prefer firmer mid soles like this (I’m a fairly big person). Nearly wore them today for a half marathon but decided it was safer to stick with something that I am familiar with.
@HereWeAreRunning
@HereWeAreRunning 25 күн бұрын
Thanks Richard and thanks for sharing your early thoughts 👍😊 I ran in mine again today on my local (gravel) track and the mid sole firm is definitely softening up now, compared to my first few runs in them. Probably wise not to wear them straight out of the box for your half marathon today but I suspect that these will be a great shoe to run fast over that distance.

Great review, thank you. I’ve done 92 miles in the Ghost Max. It is also showing slight signs of wear on the outsole. My previous shoe is the Glycerin 20 (400+ miles) which I really like for its cushioned ride. I’ve found the Max to feel a little firmer but more responsive. When choosing the Max, I tried the Max and Glycerin 21 in the shop. Both felt super comfy but I chose the Max because I’ve occasionally had issues with my metatarsal joints and wanted to try something different. When it comes to replacing the Max, I’ll try the Max V2, Glycerin 21 and Ghost 16 in the shop but I’m currently leaning towards either the Glycerin or Ghost 16. Just my preference. All great shoes though.

Thanks Steve 👍😊 I remember Devon from past holidays so can appreciate that it's pretty hilly too. In this video I used the Insta360 X3. I have a selfie stick with a tripod built in, so I can place it on the ground, run past it and when I edit using the Insta360 software, it tracks me. The audio on the camera itself it's great so I use a Rode wireless mic. The receiver attaches directly to the Insta360 X3 and I wear the transmitter. There is more effort editing with the Insta360 but I like the different types of shots you can get. My goto camera which I use in most of my videos is a GoPro Hero 10.
