Sorry buddy, yes great trucks...please get your RPO codes straight. The engines in that generation of trucks had almost nothing in common with the Gen 2 small blocks found in '92-'96 Vettes, '93-97 F-bodies, and the '94-'96 B/C(D)bodies. The small blocks available in this gen of truck is more closely related to the original small blocks.

I have 97 Silverado with 300000 on original motor. A few engine modifications and get many comments of how sweet it sounds. Including electronic cut outs :-) I will never give it up. I did have to convert it to a 2500 transmission because I tow a large boat a lot. The 1500 transmission was weak. Bought it brand new in 1997 and will pass it down to a family member.

Absolutely great video, I just bought a 2005 Camry LE for my college bound grandson who is such a grateful young man. My wife helped me repair some items that needed attention. At 70 yrs it was a project but it’s a fine car now. Thank you, I’m new to the channel. It’s great.

Agree with the comments not the video. Original owner 04 ram 240k, Tool box and rack are 1000lbs before I load the bed, crew and trailer. Water pump and pilot bearing each wore out once but still got me home. Tires, breaks, fluids and spark plugs, that's it. Just replaced my suspension, wheal bearings and valve adjuster because millage, but they were all still good. Still runs quiet and smooth 22mpg on the highway loaded. Definitely user error.

But, I have an 01 4 door 4x4 slt Dakota that is just sitting around. Right after I got it I ran into an 02 4.7 HO engine and bought it. I’ve torn it down had most of the machine work done by a local shop. I’m in the process of fitting the pistons and rings. I had the block bored.020. The crank is forged and I’m going back with a high top piston, new rings, aluminum heads are ported and polished. I was thinking of running the stock cams from the 2008 dodge ram 4.7. They have the ho cams as stock cams. There must be a way of getting some power out of 4.7? I’m balancing the rotating assembly and it’s proven to be a daunting task. What else can I do to help produce a little more horsepower? Should I increase the cams lift and duration? It’s not recommended to bore more than 20 thousandths. I can’t afford to put in a stroker kit. What’s left but to try some new things

My 08 ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 with the Getrag manual 6 speed and 4.7l has around 160,000 miles and is still going strong. The Hemi trucks never came out with 600 something HP I'm not saying you couldn't build it to get upwards of 600HP. I have only replaced the oil sending unit and gave her a tune up, which takes 2 different spark plugs, changed the oil every 3500 miles and I used synthetic every time. changed the brake pads and I keep my throttle blade clean. Stuff like that.

I Love my 2002 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinder. Its on 2nd rebuilt transmission and still running great with high mileage. I am having a hard time finding the factory made case wrap that holds the battery. My original was a light gray and it wrapped the battery like a nice sleeve. Does anyone remember this? And how can l find one. Looking all over the net for it.

I love my '08 Corolla 1.8L car with 140k miles. I put on 35k miles a year now commuting to work. Great car, 37 mtg I use Mobil1EP oil and filter every 10k mile intervals. Expect 309k miles plus no problem. Transmission has been serviced🎉 every 40k miles. Coolant fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluids changed.

Had a '97 4.6 2 wd SC 8' that I bought 2 years old with 164,000 miles. Sold it 10 years later with 330,000 miles. It was the best truck I've ever owned. It was pretty gutless, especially low end torque, and had a factory 2500 rpm stall torque converter to hide this fact. I pulled a lot of cars on a heavy open trailer at the time, so it saw hours of WOT operation. Under the hood the only issues were: EGR passage plugged, IAC needed cleaned, alternator need bearings at 170,000 and brushes at 275,000, the rear exhaust manifold rearmost studs broke on both sides, one O2 sensor heater failed, pinging caused by dirty MAF, AC clutch wore out. It used a quart of oil every 1000 miles, and 5w40 slowed it down to every 1200 miles. I probably added over 150 quarts in the time I owned it with zero ill effects. other notes: The brakes sucked but could by made better by cleaning the rear drums and keep them adjusted up. The u-joint and diff 8.8 bearings needed replaced. The pitman arm squealed but a spraying lithium grease into a hole poked in the boot kept it quiet. Fuel tank straps rusted through (recall). Use only Motorcraft plug wires. Multi-function switch issues are fairly common. 4.6 can have head gasket issues. Mine did leak water into the cylinder, but seal tabs actually sealed it for extended periods of time.

I grew up with my dad working in shops one thing I learned is everything is take and give pretty simplistic in terms using synthetic oil takes friction away but you also need that friction for valves to rotate I used ams oil for 25 k till I dropped a valve after a 200 mile trek on fresh oil plugs and coil packs I replaced my engine and will never use synthetic oil again unless the vehicle calls for it

Hyundai and Kia suffer from Altima/Mitsubishi life as a whole. Just not forgiving enough for the level of general maintenance the usual buyer forgoes. They stay running but your rolling the dice if it's going to be without drama that particular day
