Thanks for the video, there's not much info on the SL5. I'm looking at purchasing an SL5 Tactical. Seems a good as a Beretta A300 or 1301, but quite a bit cheaper (in Eastern Canada anyways)... Cheers !

I could be mistaken but I believe the SL5 defender is a different receiver than the waterfowl. It should still be a good platform, but different than the Waterfowl platform in my video.

Nice shotgun. What that really is a Miroku arms shotgun. Miroku made this for Smith & Wesson. Take for example Colt had a semi-auto back in the 1960's but was made by Franchi . I also heard Remington sued Miroku because they argued it was a copy of 1100.

Only problem I had was the gun got completely wet frozen, unfroze it the little tiny pin in the safety came lose and makes the gun unable to shoot load so you have to take the trigger whole assembly out then take apart the whole safety setup with springs and pins with a funny shaped clip literally in 25* weather wet and windy it was a 🤬 but other than that I barley cleaned mine the wicked wing bottomland edition in 2years hasn’t failed me at all!!! 2k cost was a bit high but she takes the abuse I treat her like a 870 😂😂

I recently purchased a Browning Maxus 2. I'm having the same issues. I've sent it back to Browning twice and they can't seem to get it to fail. I had it fail on 3 days back to back waterfowl hunts. First shot fires and ejects. The second does a double feed and the 2nd and 3rd shell are to both jammed. I took pictures and video to show my local dealer. After I got it back the first time i show a box of 2 3/4 and it jammed once. I shot a box of 3in and it jammed 3 times. Browning called me and started down through their talking points of was it cold outside.... what length were the shells... what was the speed of the shells ... after i shot down all those theories they basically said they couldn't get it to fail. Interesting it has failed for me with 5 different factory loads consistently and they can't get it to fail at all. It's sad that you pay $2000 for a gun and the company won't stand behind their product and make it right. Well Browning as I told yoI rep on the phone i will be selling the Maxus and if my other brownings didn't have sentimental value they would be sold too. I'll never be purchasing another browning product. Sad since i recently purchased a Cynergy and guess what it's history too. Browning needs to get their act together. Decades ago when Remington 1100/1187 were popular you could shoot 2 3/4 and 3 interchangeably with no issue and jams in all kinds of weather. Now Browning advertises a gun as a waterfowl gun that fails and they want to suggest maybe it's the weather conditions or the loads. I don't hunt waterfowl in 70 degree weather nor with only one brand of shell. Admit it Browning, you manufactured a crappy product and you should be making it right with your customers.

I will say that since this video with a good cleaning I haven’t had any more issues. I cleaned my gas piston really well as well as the rest of the gun. Used Otis dry lube on the trigger assembly, and REM oil in the action.

I have the original Maxus Wicket wing and it’s never have a flaw. I can tell you if you didn’t clean the factory oil off the magazine tube and piston you will have issues. Not saying that’s why yours won’t cycle. But give the piston a really good cleaning. See if it works better. If not. Remington 870

I’ve had my Maxus 2 for over a year now, and it’s JUNK! I finally stopped using it for anything other than Duck Hunting where I’m shooting 3” and 3.5” shells because it will not reliably cycle 2-3/4 shells. I’ve completely cleaned it 8 times, shot heavier loads and it still won’t shoot 2-3/4” shells without jamming at least once every box of shells. For $1,800 that thing should eat whatever I feed it, but unfortunately that’s not the case
