Apparently it was a requisiste for inspection of the shuttle, and I believe passing inspection is what would get them out of enemy space. So, this was pretty much a matter of life or death for the crew, though perhaps they could have found a different solution to it

If you have a PDA on you, then the sleeper agent can make you an antag (You are already a free agent though, meaning you are allowed to antags if you want)

It really is, but it's complete rng of who gets sleeper (although now there is a setting to toggle that lets you opt out of it if you want)

The round was finished already by that point. You could just randomly murder eachother at that time and it’s kosher. They just did it cause they could without issue at that point, pretty much.

1984 is a book featuring a rather intelligent protagonist set in a world where one or multiple totalitarian governments exist which control the entire world, likely not even fighting eachother. That is a gross simplification, but when somebody says “1984” it effectively amounts to saying “this some bullshit” in the context of somebody abusing their power.

Violation of a server rules demands you get bwoinked. Violate them and you will get into trouble, the emergency shuttle is a packed place where the amount of damage you can cause by far outstrips your objectives, and in some cases cannot be repaired. The admin there was 100% in the right there.

They were trying to avoid arrest, and they managed it by the skin of their teeth, thanks to the bombs. As for the spacing, just let us patch up the shuttles. Please. I had an RCD and steel, and neither would work because of the construction restriction on shuttles.

In the end at 24:00 the admins says "You're good" after I explained that it was necessary for me to escape arrest. The rules regarding evac destruction on Harmony are that it is only allowed if necessary (so no mass murder for fun) so I get why the bwoink. Also keep in mind that because this is a playtest event on a new server it also means that the admins do not have any experience either.

@@SuperDicq I took the "you're good" to mean that you would not get in trouble for this particular incident, not that you were given the right, seeing how they doubled down by saying regular antags CANNOT shuttle bomb. Whichever the case, should a similar situation present itself in the future, I'm sure there will be avenues for proper dialogue and understanding, and everything will be resolved in a satisfactory manner, so, we shouldn't really stress about it.

The issue is less the soap and how you used it

Evac bombing in general is against the rules on harmony unless you have something like die a glorious death or are an antag that doesnt give a shit about causing damage like loneop or dragon.

General rule of thumb is don't space evac unless you're supposed to kill everyone, so nukie and dragon sure can, but other antags should not. Zombies can break windows if they are in the way of targets.

To be honest, we just need to let people patch the floor or walls if they ever get destroyed, and things like that, that should be entirely justified in my view, will be back on the table without screwing over the antags or the crew. I was the engineer trying to patch the hole in the floor (22:55:). The game wouldn't let me, though.

@@fernando47180 Yea that's a known issue for as long as i've played the game, can't place floors while in warp. Best solution is holofans. Walls should work just fine i think. If i'm an engineer and have spare RCD ammo I tend to use it adding additional firelocks on the emergency shuttle.

I don't like how the chapel is very tucked away in a corner near arrivals on this station. Means you don't get a lot of visitors.

Usually when sleep agents get picked it's usually two people. So the fact that both of us got it while we were already doing shenanigans together was very great odds.

the qm didnt meta game that, i was a salvage that round and pulled qm to medbay. once they were revived and said they were missing their ID I mentioned seeing ann over their body before I dragged them to medical. also this whole video really shines a light on how much you miss on station as a salvager lol

I am actually so sad that this is the second time I managed to get my hands on a Holy Hand Grenade and didn't get to use it again. I was thinking about it using it at botany but there was already so much chaos going on this round that it just felt bad.

Oh yeah. Watching the replay for this round later was mindblowing because when you and your officers were inside the bridge THEY were already inside the disposals waiting the entire time until I was alone!

All of us started somewhere. Getting into SS13 is horrible because you'd need to deal with the unholy child of Satan that it called the Byond Engine, I would not even consider that and just jump straight to SS14 if this is your first time playing. You don't need a permit/whitelist to join the official Wizard's Den servers, they are open to anyone and it is where most new people start as they are also the official servers of the developers of the game, so they are the most "vanilla", clean and simple SS14 experience without mods and such. If you're bad at the game that is not an issue at all. People playing are very willing to explain things from my experience, they often love roleplaying a teacher/student scenario. You will not be instantly banned for like not immediately understanding all the rules yet, just don't break rules on purpose obviously. Of course I would suggest you to play a passenger as you literally have no job that way. So you can just walk around the station, interact with random items, talk to people at the bar and generally just observe what is going on during a round. You will probably be super confused of the chaos incarnate that is any random game of Space Station, but that should quickly fade in about 2 games or so when you can maybe start trying out simple jobs with low impact like Janitor or Service Worker. The grasshopper garden(noob friendly wizard den server) is pretty chill and the department heads generally take time teaching the roles to their department's assistants
