I see the last scene of her, as some bad dream. Bedelia deserved to not have that end. Hannibal was outmaneuvered by Bedelia. She played his game well enough to survive so long. Will after a while become just another addicted without any will of himself. Just trying to get high again and again to a point his character was just a moth going after the flame! Bedelia was the opposite. She tried to get away from the flame.

That's a special way to put it, She never lost her autonomy, her sense of self, whereas Will became codependent on Hannibal.

not really? he doesn’t think will has an equal, because hannibal himself doesn’t have an equal outside of will. he was playing a game for his own amusement this whole time, and bedelia was just a piece on his chess board

A replacement? She honestly didn't create it, not when she was long before will, when she was the first to discover and understand hannibal, hannibal was so in need of her that he couldn't even get rid of her.

@@sectlec2249 she didn't really understand hannibal and why he did the things he did, all she understood was that hannibal was different. will could actually empathize and SEE hannibal, though. that's literally the whole point of the show lol, it's why hannibal was so drawn to him and even said to will that his "compassion for him is inconvenient" meaning he likes and cares for him, at least in some way. hannibal planned to eat bedelia from the beginning. when tried sawing will's head off, he was doing it slowly because a part of him didn't want to actually go through with it and if he did, he would've lived to regret it forever. he literally tried looking for formulas to reverse time just because he missed how will & him used to be. putting bedelia on will's level undermines the entire point of will and hannibal's relationship
