Thank you this video was very beneficial for me But I have a question. Actually a question just arose in my head when I was watching the video about where the direction of the ions will be if the voltage of the battery is equal to the membrane potential calculated in the video

My god this has got to be the best, and probably the only explanation on KZfaq, which actually explains the counter current system of the Vasa Recta, and not just the Loop of Henle! Thank you so much Pete!!!!!!!!!!!

Pete Hi. I was wondering if I could use a couple of your visuals in my Biophysics class. I will definitely give my students the link of this video. I absolutely loved the way you presented the subject.

this topic confused me so much in the first place because the vasa recta are described to have a role in "preserving medullary hyperosmolarity" whereas if it was worded as "providing perfusion without DISRUPTING medually osmolarity" it would've been so much easier to understand

I smiled when I saw this comment. Earlier in my training, I struggled with this exact lack of clarity. Thank you for the comment.

This is genius! The explanation becomes so apparent by 1. the way you clearly explain each of the parameters involved with visualisation and 2. the derivation of where the big picture concepts like Arterial = Venous + Urinary & the appearance of substance-devoid volume (which was always there!) when you account for concentration. Hats off to you for showing beauty with your explanation.

I need to know about the Nernst equation from a chemical perspective. Yet this video has shown me so much detail and easy explanation that I couldn't understand with chemical videos. I love when the sciences mix, coexist and help each other. Thanks for the video
