The M1 had an internal magazine, but they got it right with the M14. But the M1 was ahead of its time as everyone else was using a bolt action for most of the war.

Not a 1903. I have one and the stripper clip is totally different. You can tell it is a Lee Enfield because the bolt head is not rotating.
