Looks like a MY2019 (exhaust tips are the giveaway) which would make that a B9. It's a weird transitional year. The B9.5s started in MY2020.

I don’t want drone but want a louder sound, resonator or muffler I have a a4 b9 so not sure how much different it is under the chassis

Yes! I’ve had both a resonator delete and a muffler delete for over 2 years! No issues at all :)

The pops between shifts are “DSG Farts” and are a result of the dual clutch transmission

Hate to bust your bubble but getting a k&n filter makes the same sound as that intake you have... could have saved some $$$

Got it on sale for Black Friday! Only reason why I went 034 Motorsport, plus the sounds with a K&N is a little obnoxious since it doesn’t have an intake cover, in my opinion haha

Sounds good. Just got my 034 resonator delete. Hoping it sounds just like this. Already got my intake and lowering springs. Time to do the delete n put my vorsteiners on

Do you have to cut pipes and weld to delete the resonators? Because I wanna do what you did but want to keep the factory parts as is.

Yes! The resonator will have to be cut off. You do not necessarily have to weld on new piping though, new piping can be secured with a clamp which is what I did.

Should of went with CTS turbo intake, ecs high flow cat with 3 inch down pipe

I heard bad things about the CTS intake. It also doesn’t have a heat shield covering the entire intake which increases IAT.

I didn’t remove the downpipe, only the first resonator was removed! You shouldn’t get a CEL as long as you don’t touch the catalytic converter.

@@mohammedmiah2431 no drone at all! Sound is stock up until around 2500-3000 RPM, I would recommend it as a cheap way to get some sound

Do you honestly like the res delete? I'm debating. I don’t really care for the raspy DSG farts. I don't know if its better in person.

Yes I do! I think it’s the best cheap option to add some noise to the exhaust, the larger diameter intake also helped even out the exhaust sound

@@boostseason Great question! Tough choice but I would have to say intake, in my opinion, nothing can beat turbo spool and enhanced engine noise. Especially since it is difficult to make a 4 cylinder engine with a DSG transmission sound decent

@@nickdunn7003 yeah I’m leaning towards just an intake for now. how was it to install? and you’re right, it’s hard to make 4 cyl’s sound good. the Milltek resonated exhaust sounds good (videos on youtube), but it’s $1,900…

@@boostseason yeah exactly my problem haha, all the exhaust systems for this platform are too expensive! Installation wasn’t too bad, the fitment was just tight. It took around an hour and a half total for the intake

If you can find a resonator delete for that cheap than yes! Mine was around 130. You mainly get pops and bangs when the engine is not completely warmed up and when you let off the gas in 1st or 2nd gear though!

Hey, this was just a straight cut off delete replaced with piping of the same diameter? Is that a permanent modification? Could the res be put back on?

Yes it was! The resonator diameter was 2.5” and was replaced with a 2.5’’ pipe, it is not permanent and the res can be put back on whenever you like!

@@f10paz no problem! I could see how it could avoid an exhaust warranty. Though I cannot speak on behalf of all dealers, it is extremely rare for this mod to void a warranty. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I believe there has to be evidence that the modification could cause the failure of a part, voiding the warranty.

@@f10paz no problem! I would not consider it “drone,” because for normal driving it is the same as stock while cruising. Only while accelerating up a hill it can barely borderline on droney. Do you have an Instagram by chance as a means of communication? If not no big deal!

is everything else stock? im running apr stage 1, ecs cold air intake, a jhm highflow cat, and am just now going to get a jhm downpipe. wondering if itll sound the same or stronger.

Yes everything else is stock! It’ll sound stronger for sure since the JHM is 3 inches. Also because it is the entire downpipe not just a resonator delete. Along with the high flow cat you have, should sound great!

get an ecs downpipe, it deletes the front res like you have, but the downpipe also gives some crackles and makes it a little louder. the res delete alone makes it weird bc it’s quiet at some rpms and loud at others but the dp helped me smooth it out!

No I did not do anything regarding motor response, my car also did not come with a GPF. Front res delete is the only mod the rest of the car is bone stock. Would highly recommend!
