We were neighbours, we were brothers, sisters etc... They came to our land and they provokes us between each of us. They aimed occupy our lands, culture. We named them Imperialists... Greeks and Turks, Pontics and armenians and so many different peacefull tribes. We divided and they use us nowadays as lasy 150 years. We killed our neighbours, we killed our best friends for religional reasons, racist reasons. Who won the fight? We have just one dif: Religion. But whole of us believing God.

@kimolaki That's maybe because a century ago, Mustafa Kemal slaughtered the christians of Minor Asia, including 350,000 Pontians. After that millions of christian-Pontians left the Black Sea. My grandparents came from Surmena (Sürmene) as refugees. All that was left there, were the muslim population, who also spoke the same Greek dialect and had (and as you can see, still have) the same traditions with us. I can understand the words of this song, can you?

I wouldnt say that im from trabzon myself spesificly from of “Όφη “ my family are greeks who stayed in trabzon bc we are muslims alot of us (even tho i dont agree) call ourselves turks bc of how cruel the christian polulation was especially armenians as you might now there are no native armenian in trabzon but they came to trabzon as gangs and stole our food and killed our people they hid when people were working outside and shoot people including pregnant woman it got worse after russian invasion alot of muslim greeks wanted to distance ourselves from the christiansbc they supported the tsar when his army made my family walk on foot for 3 months straight to sinop “Σινώπη” my great grandmother often talked about her days in war her stories passed down to me like how in the crowd of people who were running from russians a young boy and his grandmother were fleeing together they stopped at a spring my great grandmother was drinking from the grandma took her shoes (cizlavet) to clean herself the boy took her shoes and when his grandmother realized he tried to run away becouse she was slowing him down she starded screaming and crying begging him to not leave her or she was gonna die but the grandson ran away crying from guilt and fear. Not yo mention how they starved and had to eat bread made from hazelnut shells and wet it to try make it edilble. Becouse the christians wellcomed russians and took armenians as allies there is still resentment in our community against our greeksness. You guys werent so innocent after all

Trabzonun bütün kültürü rum kültürüdür karadeniz rumları yunanistandaki yunanlara benzemez çünkü 3000 sene önce ayrıldılar. Hristiyan rumlar mübadelede gönderilince çoğu müslüman rum kendine türk demeye başladı benim köyüm de dahil olmak üzere. Ayrıca resmi olarak rumca köy isimleri de değiştirildi ama hala az çok rumca kelimeler bilinir kimse de köylerinin türkçe ismini kullanmaz elbette türkler de var ama sonradan geldikleri için rum kültürüne asimile oldular nede olsa farklı bi coğrafyadan geliyorsunuz türk kültürünü konuşacaksak da orta asya türklerinin kültürü anadolu türklerinde yok

Her mahallede birer kilise ve merkezde Rum okulu bulunmaktaydı. Günümüzde ulaşım güçlüğü ve medeniyete uzaklığı gibi avantajları nedeniyle orijinal yapısını hala korumaktadır.

Trabzonun türkleri rumlarına düşman değildir. Asıl sıkıntı yunanistan ve anadolunun diğer yerlerinden milliyetçi akım gelmesiyle oldu o zamana kadar dosttuk. Benim ailem rum asıllı müslüman kendilerine türk derler ama rum olduğumuzu biliriz. Zamanında ermeniler bizi öldürürken türkler zarar vermemiş
