This fixture is using the original magnetic ballast. I’ve read of guys using fluorescent ballasts for SOX lamps with good results and lower energy consumption. This ballast consumes almost as much power as the lamp itself, with the fixture using about 70 watts according to the Kill A Watt meter. There is definitely room for improvement with a modern electronic ballast.

I noticed they did this at a Tesla service centre when I took my car in for a tyre pressure sensor replacement. Couldn't figure out why it was in my list of notifications. Guess it was so they could drive it around the service area sensibly.

The heater works great. It’s electric, so it heats up very quickly and provides more than enough heat for the small interior of the car. Beware: it negatively impacts range in the winter. 75 - 80 mile range in the summer, but only about 50 miles in the winter if you’re running the heat. Plan accordingly.

I picked up one yesterday. It is exactly what i needed - a small EV tractor for urban combat and winter blasting around town. Nice companion to the 911.

You have to exit the machine’s software and return to the Windows screen. From there, you’d configure your screen saver settings just like you would on a desktop PC. I’ve moved on from this job so I can’t give you a step-by-step.

@@bnkwupt oh that’s easy then, just how do you exit out of the program haha

@@therandomchannel6103 open the control box and press the small power switch on the computer inside near where you’d insert a USB drive. This will turn the display computer off. Then press again to turn it on. It should boot into Windows. There might be an easier way but I don’t remember what it is.

I find the synced strobes to be particularly effective.

I suppose you could if you’re into that, but hard revving a cold engine is not good for it. This is only a hard start because the glow plugs weren’t working - the engine is otherwise in very good condition.
