how has this machine held up for you?
@SharpExcavation25 күн бұрын
It's been really good when I get to use it. I've heard others had problems with them. I don't use mine commercially just for my yard. It is really heavy duty and the motor has held up well. I've probably got a little over 50 hrs on it now. I guess only time will tell. I don't run it 8 hours at a time either. At the most probably 2 hours at a time.

I really appreciate the videos! I purchased one and I'm working on the same set up. I want to get mine a stretch from the shed like yours. What size cable did you run from the panel to vfd and vfd to screener?
@SharpExcavationАй бұрын
Mine has 10-3 SO cable to the vfd and 12-4 SO cable from vfd. There are a lot of wire size calculators on the internet for the distances you need. Should be about 9 amps to vfd and 4.5 amps out. If it has the same motor as mine. I would buy a 1 1/2 HP vfd if I were to do it again. But mine runs great at 30hz.

Mine worked great until it shook itself into a million pieces.....

I've only been able to use mine for about 30 yards of topsoil it's been too wet it just turns to mud. What broke? It seems to be made with quality parts and the welding is very good. Mine runs at half speed also so it's less violet. But works great when dirt is dry.
@ennisservicesnc6781Ай бұрын
@SharpExcavation those screens are designed to be bent at the edges, rest in a frame, and be pulled under tension to achieve strength. My mounting tabs broke off at the wire and all the diverter pieces vibrated loose. Bolts on the motor also vibrated loose and now it has quit as well....

I’ve jumped this one across like yours also. I have it wired from a 240V breaker going into the VFD. The VFD at 50-60 hz only outputs around 60-75 volts between any 3 terminals. I have to crank it up to 400 hz to get 240V across any 3 output terminals. I purchased the VFD from Amazon and it supposed to power a 2 hp motor. At 30hz what voltage are you seeing at any 3 output terminals? Thanks for your help so far.
@SharpExcavation2 ай бұрын
are your motor parameters set correctly?rpm voltage? is it set top have single phase come in or is it a 3 phase vfd?

Is this Georgia? I wonder why they didn’t put sand and gravel underneath. How is it holding up so far, any cracks? I’ll be pouring a slab and I have 4’ of red clay.
@SharpExcavation2 ай бұрын
yes this is georgia. they were going to put down gravel but after raining for over a month the clay was hard as a rock.

Did you re-wire factory setup? I have orange on U, gray on V, black on W1. Wanting to hook up just like yours
@SharpExcavation3 ай бұрын
yea the cord was cut when i got it from shipping.
@SharpExcavation3 ай бұрын
you will also know if its running backwards because the screener will move backwards. when its running correctly it will stay in place. to reverse direction just switch any two hot wires.

Are you still running it on 30 hertz? I just bought the same screener wanting to see if i need to run it on 30 or maybe around 40-50?

yea when i get to use it my dirt is mud. and it keeps raining so i dont know when ill get to use it again. it works fine at 30hz for me it doesn't get hot and stays under rated amps.

Does your machine have a dual voltage motor on it?
@SharpExcavation3 ай бұрын
most 3 phase motors can be run on 240v and 480v it just doubles the amps on the lower voltage.
@SharpExcavation4 ай бұрын
Thanks. I will keep an eye out for that. I was just trying to widen my driveway so my trailers would not fall off. I'd like to put the double wall plastic pipe like the other one I did. That one was dry and I used a jumping jack on it. Thanks for your advice.
@pennworld4 ай бұрын
Rule of thumb. If you cant walk on it you cant lay pipe on it. I would bet money that pipe will settle and the dirt will fall through the gapped pipe.

Do you have a link or source of where you purchased the vfd? Thanks for the video
@SharpExcavation4 ай бұрын
I got off it off eBay. WEG VFD CFW300A04P2S2NB20 200-240V / 1PH 1HP is the one i purchaseed for about a $125 nib. i would purchase a larger one maybe 1.5 hp as mine doesn't let it run at 60hz. but it operates well at 30hz and keeps it within rated amps. Automation direct is a good source and they are very helpful with any questions.
