I dont know if you still have the bus but do you mind telling me what the belt part number is? My belt is still very loose; bouncing around at the crank pulley even after installing a new tensioner (old one was definitely bad and shaky itself).

sorry I don't but if you get the engine serial # cummins can look up the part# for you (that's what I did). The engine serial number is located in two places on your 8.3L. 1) On a data plate located on the top side of the gear housing. (Streetside - front) It is the top number on the right side of the plate. 2) On the engine block on top of the lubricating oil cooler housing.

The oil filters on Amazon & eBay are all fake. My best friend is a master tech at Hyundai since 2002 and he explained to me the several details that give them away. - The easiest way to spot a fake is that sticker... Real filters have never come with that holographic sticker. Those stickers can be purchased off Alibaba for cheap and just slapped on. - The second easy giveaway is the silicone drain back valve... The fake filter's drain back valves tend to not shut on their own if you press down on them using a flat head that fits between the holes. Simply press down gently on the valve through the holes and notice that they don't shut completely. This causes oil to return to the pan and causes a longer dry start on your next cold start (like after changing the oil it takes a second longer for the oil light to go out). - Last easy giveaway is that real filters have a nice pattern etched on the spiral perforated metal center, while the fakes lack the pattern entirely. What I mean by this is on the sections where it is not perforated and closed it has a nice indented pattern all on it. The fakes didn't take the time to care about doing this as it's too much detail. These are just 3 of several more differences, but the clear giveaway is the sticker. If it has a sticker, automatically a fake filter. Otherwise, use it at your own risk. Hope this helps.

The filter that came on the car from the factory had the sticker on it...it's one of the three in the video so what you are saying may be true for some filters but not these. FYI the car had 2 miles on it when we bought it so it was the filter that came from the factory.

This might be a dumb question but you figured your mix with a dry weight in oz.s, if you use a liquid herbicide would you use still use a weight in oz.s, or fluid oz.s? Thanks, great video btw!
@BubbasWorkshop

Basically you use whichever measurement the herbicide uses so if it says x amount of liquid ounces per acre then use liquid ounces if it says dry ounces use dry ounces 👍

Hubby talked to someone that said a lot of times when there’s a lightning strike it will take out the coils on the valves, so he’s going to have to ring all those out to with a meter, there’s about 8 or 10 of them and there all under ground. Is this true?
@BubbasWorkshop
@BubbasWorkshop 2 ай бұрын
Luckily I didn't have any damage besides the controller itself...the coils are pretty tough (just an electromagnet - no electronics). If you had a strike and the controller is dead i'd start there first then see what works and what doesn't and go from there. The coils (sprinkler valves) are underground but should be housed in little containers covered with a green lid (or similar) so they aren't hard to work on. If a valve (the coil is what moves the valve) doesn't work they are easy to replace.

I'm almost sure they do...i believe it's a 5/8 axle. I would look on john deere parts site and see if the front wheel assembly has the same part#. I did look at a couple listings and the s170 WAS listed it just doesn't show up in the description (but if you look at details of the listing on amazon it lists 50+models it fits).

Caution should be taken when cranking the motor with the plug out, sometimes the cylinder can be full of gas due to a bad fuel shut off and when the motor spits out the gas the spark plug or the plug wire can spark causing a fire 🔥🔥🔥

What a beautiful tractor and restoration, but what is it really good for. Watercooled diesel lawnmower, (complication and expensive)too small for any real work. Not very practical IMHO, nice job ,though🤔

I actually use it quite often because it is small and powerful...I just used it this weekend hauling dirt (it will pull a full size trailer..not very fast but it just chugs along). If it was a hydro it would be a great mower but being a gear drive it kinda sucks for me because I have a lot of trees/etc... (so I do a bunch of forward/back).

that is a lot of determination, the issue is the crappy alloys used in these China tanks & Carbs, I had one that did the same, I replaced the carb & strapped a plastic gas tank on the side from an old lawn tractor, I have an older Coleman Generator with a genuine Honda Engine, the thing is at least 20 years old, sits with gas in it all the time, it starts & runs great & not a spot of rust in the tank or filler screen or cap while the cheap China Knock off generator I bought looked just like your tank after sitting with fuel in it for 3 years.
