That sounds like it is ready for the junk yard. My 2024 cx5 G sounds a little noisy for about 30 seconds then revs go way down to maybe 850 and its smooth and quiet. I would never have bought the car if it sounded like that piece of junk you are showing.

I have project mu brake pads. Already 10yrs old 35k mi and still 90%+ life. I will 100% need to replace them because the adhesive making the pads stick has to be on their last limbs.

Why not use the recirculation of coolant?

Pretty easy to swap to track pads before an event so you don’t have to suffer with noisy brakes. 😊

Went to buy from Hertz today a 2018 CX5 grand touring, beautiful car but upon start up it had a very prominent loud ticking noise. Pulled another similar CX5 alongside it and it didn't have anywhere near the volume of tick. I called the deal off, they took it to a Mazda shop for examination...I'll wait to see what that reveals.

Thanks, I've just replaced both sides with replacement power struts from Poland on my UK Mazda CX-5 2019. Mine didn' t come with bracket, but just raising the clip was enough to wriggle it off. Took <30 mins to do both sides, thanks to your clear guide. I even got the same beeps after installing them when I first pressed the boot close button. After gently, slowly closing the boot it all worked perfectly. Saved me quite a few pounds! Thanks again Driver67

How about a whistle noise when you are driving at 2nd gear and a moment before shift up to 3rd gear?

It sets the ignition timing to -20⁰ (or 20⁰ ATDC) to speed up engine warm-up, namely the exhaust system. It doesn't do it as long in warmer weather. There is a TSB on it. A small amount of noise (like piston slap/valve noise) when cold, that stops when warm, is normal and OK.

Exact same problem on my cx5 2018 in winter season in Toronto, I’m trying a less restrictive oil filter and seems to help a bit with the lifter noise, but no completely😢

Hello, every time I start my Mazda Cx3 the engine has fluctuating idle and with or without the air conditioning activated and after about 20 seconds it works fine, I don't know if this is normal or what could be causing it.

I have a 2020 Mazda 3 Petrol 2.0 and the engine sounds like it's a diesel engine this has only happened umafter Mazda did a free service and oil change was a beautiful quiet engine till they changed the oil now it's going back for a component guarantee for the high pressure fuel pump,when cold it's really loud and when hot it sounds like a light diesel engine

2 things make this engine loud, the steel timing chain (more durable and longer lasting than a rubber belt but louder) and the incredible 14 to 1 compression ratio (this is more than a few race car engines and provides more power).

It is called a "fast idle" and my 2020 only will last about 40 seconds, every time regardless of the outside temperature.
