I've never heard of Raisin' Me Up before this video. Doesn't feel Sonic to me, but it's a bop. My Destiny is too much of a love song to fit cleanly, but my heart skipped a beat when the music stopped on Sonic saying "dad" (ditto for Light of Hope). Still not sold on Live Life's use here though, need to see how Sonic 3 ends. As for what I really liked, the Sonic 2 Medley goes really hard. I can see the It Doesn't Matter Symphony version being used if the opening action scene used either SA1 or SA2's version of It Doesn't Matter.

You missed one song, and that's "Glimmering Gift" from Sonic Mania.

So, the hard part here is finding a song that not only would play to a general audience, but also a song that this Sonic would listen to. On those points, I can totally see this version of Sonic listening to We Can from Sonic Heroes. It helps that that song, the game & this movie shares themes of friendship. Reach for the Stars & Speak With Your Heart work for a similar reason. I also love Dreams of an Absolution, but the dance ends before the song even gets to the chorus. One song not on here that I think would also work would be Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal. It's got the same cool factor as Uptown Funk, and it's a reference to how Jackson worked on the Sonic 3 soundtrack. What helps is that there's a 16-bit version of the song that exists thanks to the Smooth Criminal video game on the Genesis, so that could be a tribute to classic Sonic proper.

See, I think City Escape fits here far better than the climax of Sonic 1. It's a good intro song, it's light-hearted, and the lyrics kinda of add to the conversation Sonic's having with the guard in a funny way, asking for trust when he's not deserving it. Honorable Mentions: Park Avenue, Wisp Circuit, Tropical Resort, Sweet Mountain.

And now for the Temple Run. I already said Vandilize was my pick for the Water Run, and since this scene immediately follows that one, it kinda limits the options. I'll start with most recent first so nostalgia doesn't Creeper Gorge fits really well, since it's very foreboding. Kingdom Valley is a close second, but it sounds too different from Vandilize than Creeper Gorge does.

As much as Ice Cap Zone is *the* Ice Zone I think of in regards to Sonic, I just don't see most Genesis tracks being used in the movies outside of hardcore fan projects. I have a similar problem with SA1 Icecap, since it's very jazzy and may stick out (though, arguably, that might be more reason to use it). Still, Cool Edge is a good song & it doesn't sound like it's from a video game, so I can easily see it sliding into this scene (though still, the timing in SA1 Icecap is really good).

Sonic Heroes is great & I am basic. What I'm Made of is a close second, but I already have that as a high pick for the Sonic 1 final fight, and only Sonic Heroes could fit here. I will say, for a more modern sound, Escape from Null Space is also very good.

Fight For My Own Way hits me right in the nostalgia. So do that SA2 rival songs, but save those for Shadow. Given the music choices I've liked for Act Three of your playlist, I think 3 Black Noises fits really well for the tone. Eggmanland is good, but, too echo the comments, the Black Knight songs are also really good. Fight the Knight may win just for coolness factor.

Since the Temple Run got filed under YT Kids, I'll be talking about that here as well. For the Water Run...you kinda dug yourself a hole, because Vandilize is so good, and I want I'm Here for the final fight, (though it may complicate my pick for the Temple Run). So now, to find the winner for second place Unless for Sonic 3 they swap the Biolizard for Chaos, I'd be fine putting Open Your Heart here. His World is also immensely satisfying the way it's cut (I wonder if Crush 40s version would also fit). I also love The Inlet, Kingdom Valley Water, End of the World, etc. for Sonic 06. I love Knight of the Wind, though would've loved it if the "Woaaaaah" came in as Sonic left the shore. Aqua Road is a good song, but there's the problem of Sonic music having so many different sounds. You want as much of the series to be represented musically, but it's not entirely cohesive. So, I'd probably give second place to His World, either Zebrahead or Crush 40.

Alright, at this point, E.G.G.M.A.N. has been earned.

The problem I have with this video is that I feel like all the music starts too early, coming in right when they start talking about wiping Robotnik off their database, rather than discovering a file dating back over 50 years. That said, I Am All of Me fits this model, since the song cuts right before the lyrics start. I also like Waking Up, since it starts a little later. As for newer songs, I like Episode Shadow, and to a degree Infinite's beginning, though that could just be me not having as much attachment to those songs.

I'll echo that SA1's Unknown from M.E. is the best choice, though Madness also works.

Sonic Adventure, Sonic 06, Sonic Unleashed Stage/Boss Clear/Result, Sonic Colors Clear/Result are all good.

I like Special Stage 1, Hydrocity Zone & Casino Park, but Lazy Days is too funny to ignore.

And...Fish Hits is too funny to not consider, thought Let's make it syncs well with Sonic's breakdown (with Olympic Games opening a close second)

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog helps create the idea that Eggman is slowly becoming more & more of a silly character, while SATAM/Sonic CD USA helps reinforce that, while becoming more of a joke, he's still a threat. Mushroom Hill sadly doesn't work because it's too bouncy. Surprisingly, no use of E.G.G.M.A.N, since I figure this would be a great point for him to embrace the name.

So, with any use of E.G.G.M.A.N., I don't think that this version of Robotnik would refer to himself as Eggman yet. Yeah, he refers to his robots as coming out of his "egg sack," but Eggman as a name doesn't happen until Sonic coins it. I love the idea of Robotnik having Sonic CD music on his spotify playlist, and it'd be even funnier if that's the music that plays when he arrives in San Francisco, since then it turns into a huge flex. I prefer Metallic Madness here since it doesn't get ruined by the music cutting out in the middle, and I imagine the JP Boss Music is just a bit too word salad for most people.

If the Baby Sonic scene opens with Green Hill Zone, then Emerald Hill Zone needs to score this scene. However, Believe in Myself SA1 just pushes the happy button in my brain something fierce.

In the tie between My Dear Friend & Just Smile, pulling up the title card with Just Smile clinched it.

Wow, there are so many good picks here. Sonic Adventure & the It Doesn't Matter Instrumental hit me in the nostalgia, though Sonic Adventure highlights Green Hills Town as the "hub world" of the movie. I thought I'd like the 06 & Unleashed soundtracks since that game has good music, but the picks here are a bit *too* mellow for me. Conversely, I really like Sonic Lost World Map music & Seaside Jungle 1, since while they're also mellow they have a bounce to them that keeps the scene interesting.

Uh, it's Green Hill Zone Act 1, no contest. Sometimes the obvious choice is the right choice. If we are talking about good alternates, Palmtree Panic works for me given my Sonic CD love. I also love the Endless Possibilities cover, and if you include Dark Gaia Phase 2 in the climactic fight & EmuEmi's acoustic cover of EP at the very end of the movie it would make a great musical throughline for the movie.

Since YT Kids claimed the Final Battle for Sonic 1, I'll talk about that here as well. For Sonic 1, it's What I'm made of. It syncs well with the scene to start with, and "try to drain my energy, let me show you just what I'm made of" fits the movie so well. If you want a lyricless song, I also like Solaris Phase 2, especially if you use Crisis City for San Francisco. If you don't use Sonic 06 at all, then it's Dark Gaia Phase 2. For Sonic 2, I'm Here from Frontiers is cheating, though it'd work as a tie-in to Frontiers since they came out in the same year. I actually really like the Sonic 06 Medley, since it starts ominous before turning heroic. Obviously, the songs I mentioned for Sonic 1 would also work, but I prefer Frontiers & the Sonic 06 medley.

Ooh, so many winners here. SATAM, Sonic CD, the E.G.G.M.A.N. remixes (don't like the reference to The Ark in the original for the movie universe). I think whatever music is used in Jim Carrey's dance scene needs to be repeated here, so I'd go with Sonic CD.

I utterly love Stardust Speedway as the chase music (fitting since that music is also closely tied with a "chase scene" in the sonic games). Sonic Boom is a close second, though I feel it's lyrics betray it, since it's not the planet that's facing disaster in the movie.

I'm really feeling Fist Bump, but I'd go with the instrumental version, since a song about teamwork doesn't click in a scene of Sonic fighting solo. I also like Eggmanland, since the final stage music works for the climax. Sunset Heights also gets a close third, save Live & Learn for Sonic 3.

With strawpoll closing, I'll just post what I thought was the best choice of these options. For part 1, I'll say Crisis City, since it really has a "climax" feeling to it. And when I first saw this video years ago I remember thinking "this is probably the only place to reference Sonic 06"...until the Knuckles show, apparently. EDIT: I don't love City Escape because it's very "first level" and too light-hearted for the big fight with Robotnik.
