Back in the early 2000s I bought an RVF400 that i spotted sitting outside a second hand car dealers here in NZ, that specialised in importing used cars from Japan. They also used to throw the odd bike into the containers if there was room, so always had a few 250s & 400s for sale. This one caught my eye because although it had a standard paint job, it had a yellow single offset headlight, Suzuka 8 hr style. The dealer couldn't get it started, and didn't want to start messing around with it, so i made a stupid low offer, which they accepted! After i got it home, and got a good look at it, i realised how much of a score i had. The owner in Japan had obviously spent a TON of Yen on it, HRC F3 kit ecu, airbox, jet kit, some Marvic wheels and a lovely TSR full exhaust with "under & over" cans. After i cleaned the carbs, (they were bunged up from sitting for so long and the cause of the starting issues) and fitted a Nitron shock, the front & rear set up for my weight the thing was a weapon on NZ's twisty roads. Sold it to a guy who hounded me, every time i saw him for me to sell it to him, I wish i hadn't.

Enjoy! I had a VFR400 NC30 for a couple of years and I loved that bike. Unfortunately, it was difficult to get parts, so eventually I sold it. For people who don't know: 1st gear 14500 RPM, 100km/h. And a fantastic sound. :)

Mijn Cb-1 loopt slecht.
@NC35Race3 ай бұрын

is that smoke normal?
@NC35Race5 ай бұрын
It is not smoke ( from oil), but it is from moisture in the engine. This bike was standing a very long time and this was the first running after years. Now, the "smoke" has gone.

Valve clearance is for all motors , manufacturers set a predetermined clearance and you adjust shims to maintain that, too big a valve clearance and the valve timing changes, opens later closing earlier

You have to use a special carb tool. Long angle screwdriver. For synchronising and fine tuning.
