nice video for sure! though i will never ever understand - why they didnt make the hand grip have a rosette attachment - why they didn't use lemo cables - why they don't let us adjust the position of motor rod clamp - why they didnt just put a screw hole into the lidar so ppl can easily use noga arms like everyone has been doing for years with cinetapes etc like they are just barely missing out on a much larger client base
@GerfriedGuggiАй бұрын
it's a pitty the DJI Focus pro isn't using the DJI transmission technology, you can view video blocks away but can't control focus over the same distance (not even close)

Hello great video. Unfortunately I have a problem. I have my setup as follows: dji RS4 Pro, Lidar Pro, focus motor pro on a Fuji xh2s with an Irix Cine lens on a cage I have calibrated the focus motor. In manual mode the lights on the lidar and motor are permanently red and I can focus with the gimbal wheel. However, when I switch to automatic mode, the lidar lights up green and the motor yellow. Although I have already calibrated. What could be the problem? I look forward to your feedback. Also from the community BR Tim from Germany

What‘s a good strength setting for working with the Force Pro? Same as for the wheels? Really nice video! Thanks!
@chrisherrАй бұрын
With the force pro on a fluid head I keep the strength up, if I'm hand holding it I'll drop it down a bit just because it can pick up too many of the little micro jitters. But if you want those jitters then keep the strength up. It sort of acts like smoothing when you lower strength.

10 year DP confused by end of menace arm pieces and Speed C’s. Lol jk. Future DP’s, take note. Please come up in G&E. Learn the tools that enable your creativity. Your crew will always be impressed by your simplicity and assertiveness. Props to this DP for reeducating and refreshing the knowledge.

My counter argument would be to lean on your crew and let them use their vast knowledge and expertise to achieve your vision instead of focusing on the micro of how things get done. It’s helpful to know the tools at your disposal for a number of reasons , but not necessary a lot of the time, that’s why we specialize.

at 21:40, you can also do this with a trinity, Steadicam rig, as the gimble is on the end like a spear head.

Looks fantastic. What is the expected longevity of the rubber tether?
@chrisherr2 ай бұрын
We're expecting at least a year of heavy use. But the beauty is that it's cheap and easy to replace. Think of them more as expendables than something you need to care after for long term use. Replacement bands will be about $20

I rented a ronin 2 earlier this month for the first time and it was so much more difficult to use than the RS series gimbals. Changing the settings were so different and not having a joystick on the gimbal was strange. It was however nice to be able to balance a heavy setup with no counter weights and no struggle from the motors

It'l be super nice to see a comparison with easy rig + mantis - zeegee on a steadicam arm and vest, I know they're very different tools, but since both are aiming to get a handheld look, will be awesome to study them, especially being in Finland have no access to both of them!!!
@Dlowreyjr012 ай бұрын
Feel like this product is a good starting point. A joint partnership to develop a build-in solution to an easy rig would be the product to buy. Still a very impressive product!

Ready rig vega + 2 mantis and a ronin seems like a killer combo. But that's probably around the pricing of a steadycam and I'm not sure what's the pros of this over a steadycam
@chrisherr2 ай бұрын
Eh, vega, mantis and ronin is about $15,000 brand new. Steadicam with a volt is going to be $40,000 +. And with the Ronin 2 you also get a remote head, the ability to hand it off during a shot, dolly mounting, dual operated hand held etc etc.

I’d like to watch this but with the Easyrig serene. Seems like a more fair fight..
@chrisherr2 ай бұрын
This is true, we'll be doing more comparisons soon. But the Mantis does give you other benefits outside of just stabilizing the Z axis. Larger boom range, easier adjustments of tension, ability to mount to a variety of rigs, easy rig, speedrail, ready rig etc.

Reminds me of the ergorig undersling attachment! This gets you from waist to shoulder faster seems like! However, makes the already high and clunky arm even higher and clunkier… different tools for different tasks i suppose!

It does add about 3" to the top of the easy rig. You can also flip the easy rig adapter upside down and then it only sits about 1" higher than the easy rig.

Regulations need to come in and stop cameras from being so heavy they require you to be bionic. I admire the move to being comfortable so people can shoot all day long for years instead of blowing knees and backs out at 32.

How will these work on the longer and shorter EasyRig arms?
@chrisherr2 ай бұрын
Our easy rig adapter has extendable pins that will give you a little more reach on a short arm easy rig. And on longer arms you can always slide the adapter back to wherever you want the elastic to come down. i.e. over your shoulder.
